A control system, for example, for a television receiver comprised of a monitor and a tuner has a plurality of sources of control commands, such as, remote control command receivers associated with the television monitor and tuner, respectively, and a manual control device or keyboard associated with the monitor, a plurality of input terminals connected to the control command sources, respectively, through independent paths and each of which is assigned a predetermined priority in relation to the other input terminals, and a controller for selecting one of the control commands in the order of the predetermined priorities assigned thereto when such control commands are simultaneously received at the respective input terminals, and for producing a control signal for the monitor and/or tuner in correspondence with the selected control command.

Control system having a plurality of control command sources

A television receiver for selectively reproducing either a picture of a television signal or an external video signal, having a television tuner using a signal controlled reactance device as a tuning element, a video detector coupled to said television tuner for producing a television video signal at a television video signal output terminal, a channel selector having a plurality of channel selecting switches for supplying a tuning signal corresponding to a selected channel to said signal controlled reactance device of said television tuner, an external video signal input terminal, a gate circuit for selecting one video signal from said television video signal input terminal or said external video signal input terminal, a flip-flop circuit for controlling said gate circuit, and a mode control switch for triggering said flip-flop.

A televison reciver for reproducing a picture selectively derived from a television signal or from an external video signal, including a television tuner having a variable reactance device as a tuning element, a video detector coupled to said television tuner and producing a television video signal at a television video signal output terminal, thereof a channel selector having a plurality of channel selecting switches for supplying a tuning voltage corresponding to a selected channel to the variable reactance device of said television tuner, an external video signal input terminal, a gate circuit operative to select a video signal either from said television video signal input terminal or from said external video signal input terminal, flip-flop circuit having first and second states for controlling said gate circuit, a switch for setting said flip-flop circuit to control the gate circuit to select an external video signal, and a reset circuit connected to said channel selecting switches for resetting said flip-flop circuit to control the gate circuit to select a television video signal.

Television receiver with video changeover switch responsive to channel

A raster distortion correction circuit for correcting both pincushion distortion and trapezoidal distortion of a raster on a cathode ray tube. A parabolic-shaped signal and a sawtooth-shaped signal, both having frequencies equal to the vertical deflection frequency, are supplied to the correction circuit. The amplitude and polarity of the sawtooth-shaped signal is selectively adjusted, and the adjusted sawtooth-shaped signal is combined with the parabolic-shaped signal and supplied to a current modulator. A horizontal deflecting current flows through the modulator and is thus modulated by the combined parabolic-shaped signal and adjusted sawtooth-shaped signal, the modulated horizontal deflecting current being supplied to a horizontal deflection coil included in the horizontal deflection circuit for the cathode ray tube. The parabolic-shaped signal component corrects the pincushion distortion and the adjusted sawtooth-shaped component corrects the trapezoidal distortion.
