An automotive electric door lock system comprises a door lock which includes a latch plate latchedly engageable with a striker secured to the vehicle and a locking plate which is pivotable between an engaging position wherein the locking plate engages the latch plate and a releasing position wherein the locking plate releases the latch plate. An electric actuator is employed for moving the locking plate from the engaging position to the releasing position when energized. A power supply device energizes the electric actuator when a door handle is manipulated. A control device is used for instantly stopping the electric power supply to the electric actuator when the locking plate arrives at the releasing position.

Automotive electric door lock system

A coupling device for connecting a wire and a knob of elastic material is disclosed. The wire has one end formed into a hook and a portion curved into a generally U shape and connecting to the hook. The knob has a bore receiving the wire and a wall portion surrounding the bore. The wall portion is formed with a slot engaged by the hook, and a bulge protruding into the bore and engaged with the U-shaped portion of the wire. The bulge is so constructed and arranged as to prohibit removal of the U-shaped portion of the wire from the bore after the bulge has allowed insertion of the U-shaped portion into the bore.

Coupling device

A lower rail of channel structure is secured a floor. The lower rail has a longitudinally extending slot in an upper portion thereof. An upper rail is slidably engaged with the lower rail and mounts thereon a seat. The upper rail includes a base portion which is slidably received in the lower rail and a supporting wall portion which extends upward from the base portion and passes through the slot of the lower rail for connection with the seat. A protecting cover covers one end portion of the lower rail and has a longitudinally extending slit into which the supporting wall portion of the upper rail is inserted when the upper rail assumes an extreme position relative to the lower rail. A concealing structure is integral with the projecting cover and constructed to conceal the slit. The concealing structure and the supporting wall portion are so constructed as to permit the insertion of the supporting wall portion into the slit irrespective of provision of the concealing structure.

Seat slide device with protecting cover

A seat sliding device including a stationary rail secured at both ends thereof to a vehicle floor through brackets, a movable rail slidably engaged with the stationary rail and mounting thereon a seat, and a protective cover for covering the bracket and said stationary rail. The protective cover comprises a bracket cover portion covering the bracket, a rail cover portion connected to the bracket cover portion and covering an end portion of the stationary rail, and means for defining a guide groove which provides a space through which the movable rail passes. The protective cover contributes to an improvement in interior appearance and safety of a passenger compartment of vehicles.

Protective cover for seat sliding devices

A combination in a motor vehicle having a power window is disclosed. The combination comprises an electric power mechanism which can move the window pane downward and upward selectively when energized; a control switch electrically connected to the electric power mechanism for controlling the same, the control switch having a first condition wherein the window pane is moved downward when the control switch assumes a window opening position and a second condition wherein the window pane is moved upward when the control switch assumes a window closing position; an ignition key sensing switch; a locked/unlocked condition sensing switch; a door opening detecting switch; and a control circuit. The control circuit causes the control switch to assume the first condition when the ignition key sensing switch senses that the ignition key is not in the ignition key cylinder and the locked/unlocked condition sensing switch senses the unlocked condition of the door lock device and causes the control switch to assume the second condition when the ignition key sensing switch senses that the ignition key is not in the the ignition key cylinder and the door opening detecting switch senses that the door is opened.

Control device for power window

An automotive seat having a seat cushion latching device is disclosed, in which the changing of the seat cushion from an operative latched position to a folded latched position or vice verse is achieved by manipulating only one operation lever. The automotive seat comprises a seat cushion; a pivot mechanism for permitting the seat cushion to pivot between an operative position and a folded position with respect a fixed member; first and second strikers secured to spaced portions of the seat cushion; a base structure secured to the fixed member; a first latching mechanism installed in the base structure for latching the first striker when the seat cushion assumes the operative position; a second latching mechanism installed in the base structure for latching the second striker when the seat cushion assumes the folded position; an operation lever pivotally supported by the base structure; and a link mechanism linking the operation lever to both the first and second latching mechanisms so that a pivotal movement of the operation lever in a given direction cancels a latched condition of either one of the first and second latching mechanisms.

Seat cushion latching device for automotive seat

A seat slide device is disclosed, which comprises a molded lower rail which is secured to a vehicle floor and is formed with outwardly projected flange portions for increasing a mechanical strength thereof; and a molded upper rail which carries thereon a seat and is slidably enaged with the lower rail. A toothed structure is integral with the lower rail and has a plurality of axially aligned teeth. A latch member is carried by the upper rail and latchingly engageable with the teeth to achieve a latched engagement between the lower and upper rails. A reinforcing plate is lined on the lower rail. The reinforcing plate has a toothed portion which is lined on the toothed structure to reinforce the same.

A seat assembly for a motor vehicle is shown which comprises a lower rail secured to a floor of the vehicle; an upper rail slidably engaged with the lower rail; a base structure secured to the upper rail to move therewith; a seat cushion held by the base structure in a manner to pivot between a horizontal operative condition and an upright inoperative condition; a seat slide latching mechanism for latching the upper rail to the lower rail, the seat slide latching mechanism having a first cancelling device which cancels the latched condition of the upper rail when actuated; a seat cushion latching mechanism for latching the seat cushion at both the horizontal operative and upright inoperative positions relative to the base structure, the seat cushion latching mechanism having a second cancelling device which cancels the latched condition of the seat cushion when actuated; and a latch cancel inhibiting mechanism which inhibits the actuation of one of the first and second cancelling devices when the other of the first and second cancelling devices is being actuated.

A seat assembly for a motor vehicle is shown, which comprises a lower rail secured to a floor of the vehicle; an upper rail slidably engaged with the lower rail; a base structure secured to the upper rail to move therewith; a seat cushion held by the base structure in a manner to pivot between a horizontal operative position and an upright inoperative position; a seat slide latching mechanism for selectively latching and unlatching the upper rail relative to the lower rail; a seat cushion latching mechanism for selectively latching and unlatching the seat cushion at the horizontal operative and upright inoperative positions relative to the base structure; and a control handle incorporated with both the seat slide latching mechanism and the seat cushion latching mechanism. The control handle is so arranged that only when the seat cushion assumes the upright inoperative position, a movement of the control handle in a given direction causes the seat slide latching mechanism to unlatch the upper rail from the lower rail.

The assembly comprises a lower rail secured to a floor of the vehicle; an upper rail slidably engaged with the lower rail; a base structure secured to the upper rail to move therewith; a seat cushion held by the base structure in a manner to pivot between a horizontal operative position and an upright inoperative position; a seat slide latching mechanism for latching the upper rail to the lower rail; a seat cushion latching mechanism for latching the seat cushion at both the horizontal operative and upright inoperative postions relative to the base structure; a latch cancelling mechanism incorporated with the seat cushion latching mechanism for cancelling the latched condition of the seat cushion when actuated; and a restraining mechanism incorporated with the latch cancelling mechanism. The restraining mechanism latches the upper rail to the lower rail when the latch cancelling mechanism is being actuated.

A seat slide device for a motor vehicle is shown, which includes a seat slide latching mechanism by which an upper movable rail can be latched at a desired fore-and-aft position relative to a lower stationary rail and a rail-disconnection inhibiting mechanism by which undesired separation of the upper rail from the lower rail is prevented even when a great load is applied to the rails due to a vehicle collision of the like. Lock openings formed in the lower rail can be used for not only the seat slide latching mechanism but also the rail-disconnection inhibiting mechanism. Thus, the lower rail has a satisfied mechanical strength.

A vehicle door lock system including a power lock actuator for locking and unlocking a door by moving a lock lever, is further provided with a childproof and theftproof lock actuator for moving a block lever between a block position to prevent the swing motion of the lock lever, and an unblock position to allow the lock lever's swing motion.

A walk-in device for use in a seat slide device is disclosed. The seat slide device includes a stationary rail, a movable rail slidably engaged with the stationary rail, and a locking mechanism for locking and unlocking the movable rail relative to the stationary rail when a first member is turned in first and second directions respectively. The walk-in device comprises a base member secured to the movable rail; a first lever pivotally connected to the base member, the first lever being turned between a first position wherein the first member is kept unchanged and a second position wherein a part of the first lever abuts against the first member to turn the same in the second direction; a second lever pivotally connected to the base member, the second lever having a projection which is slidably engageable with a side wall of the stationary rail under a certain condition; a link structure for providing a linkage connection between the first and second levers; and a spring for biasing the second lever in a direction to press the projection toward the stationary rail, wherein the link structure is so constructed that when the first lever assumes the first position, the second lever is prevented from turning, and when the first lever assumes the second position and the projection of the second lever is disengaged from an end of the stationary rail, the second lever is turned due to the force of the spring in a direction to suppress the turning of the first lever toward the first position.

Disclosed herein is an arrangement in a motor vehicle having a floor and a seat. The arrangement comprises a first structure which defines a groove by the vehicle floor; a seat sliding device which comprises two units each including a stationary rail, a movable rail slidably interlocked with the stationary rail and rollers and balls for smoothing the movement of the movable rail relative to the stationary rail, one unit of the seat sliding device being tightly received in the groove having a given part of the movable rail projected upward from the groove; a rug spread on the vehicle floor in a manner to cover the groove, the rub having an elongate slit through which the given part of the movable rail is projected upward; and a second structure for connecting the given part to the seat.
