A corridor apparatus of an articulating section for use in articulated cars comprises: a pair of rectangular outer corridors respectively provided to end surfaces of car bodies to be articulated, in such a manner as to project therefrom and surround corridor entrances of the car bodies; a pair of rectangular inner corridors each adapted to partially fit with each of the outer corridors in a connected manner; and a pair of gate-shaped inner frames each connected to the other end of each of the inner corridors, the inner frames being fitted with each other such as to be swingable in the direction of the articulating section's corridor with lower ends thereof as a supporting point, wherein the rectangular outer corridors, the inner corridors, and the inner frames constitute peripheral walls of the articulating section's corridor, fitting portions of the outer corridors and the inner corridors are arranged to be rotatable around a center point of the articulating section's corridor, coupling portions of each of the inner corridors and each of the inner frames are adapted to move together with respect to movement in the direction of the articulating section's corridor and can be slid and displaced rative to each other with respect to a direction perpendicular to that of the articulating section's corridor.

Intercar gangway for articulated cars

A gangway construction for vehicles comprises divided hood structures each of which has a first end and second end, the first ends of the respective hood structures being fixed to the vehicles, and the second ends thereof being made free and to face each other, a plurality of hood pressers provided between upper sides of metal frames on a free side of the hood structure and the vehicles and between lower sides thereof and the vehicles for urging the hood structures in their extension direction upon coupling operation, the plurality of hood pressers being arranged in a horizontal plane in convergent relation, and positioning members for guiding and engaging each other upon mutual approach of the members to effect a centering action, the positioning members being provided in the release side metal frames.

Gangway construction for vehicles

A hood device for coupling cars comprises a first hood component having one end secured to one of a pair of car bodies to be coupled with each other and a second hood component having one end secured to the other car body and the other end adapted to be coupled with the other end of the first hood component, each of the hood components having side wall panels provided on both side portions thereof. Each side wall panels includes a fixed side wall panel having one end secured to the other end of the associated hood component, and a movable side wall panel having one end mounted on the associated car body and adapted to be turnable about a substantially vertical axis and the other end resiliently urged such as to be directed to the inner surface of the adjacent fixed side wall panel. The movable side wall panel has a roller at the other end thereof which is supported in such a manner that it can be rolled on the inner surface of the fixed side wall panel in the longitudinal direction of the car bodies and displaced by a predetermined amount in the vertical direction, thereby assuring smooth sliding movement between the fixed and movable side wall panels following variable running conditions of the cars.
