An automobile part comprising a polypropylene resin composition, the polypropylene resin composition comprising a propylene homopolymer (A1), an elastomer (B) and an inorganic filler (C) in specified proportions. The polypropylene homopolymer (A1) exhibits an MFR (230&#xb0; C.) of 20 to 300 g/10 min, a ratio of position irregular units derived from 2,1-insertion or 1,3-insertion of propylene monomer relative to all propylene structural units, determined from aC-NMR spectrum, each of 0.05% or less, and an Mw/Mn, determined by GPC, of 1 to 3.

An automobile part comprising a polypropylene resin composition, the polypropylene resin composition comprising a propylene homopolymer (A1), an elastomer (B) and an inorganic filler (C), or comprising a propylene block copolymer (A2) and an inorganic filler (C) optionally together with an elastomer (B), in specified proportions. The propylene homopolymer (A1), or the propylene homopolymer segment of the propylene block copolymer (A2) exhibits an MFR (230-C) of 20 to 300 g/10 min, a ratio of position irregular units derived from 2,1-insertion or 1,3-insertion of propylene monomer relative to all propylene structural units, determined from aC-NMR spectrum, each of 0.2% or less, and an Mw/Mn, determined by GPC, of 1 to 3.

Automotive part made of polypropylene resin composition

A propylene polymer composition is prepared by mixing propylene homo- or co-polymer (A) obtained using a transition metal catalyst compound (h), defined herein, with a co-catalyst, e.g., organoaluminum oxy compound, with an olefin elastomer (D) and another olefin polymer (E), e.g., polyethylene. Alternatively, the combination of propylene polymer (A), olefin elastomer (D) and olefin polymer (E) is prepared by a multi-stage polymerization method. In both cases, the propylene homo- or co-polymer (A) may include a second propylene homo- or co-polymer (A') wherein the ratio of intrinsic viscosities of propylene polymers (A) and (A&#x2032;) is in the range of 3 to 30. These propylene polymer compositions are excellent in heat resistance, mechanical strength, tensile elongation at break, etc., and can be used in the fabrication of structural materials, films and sheets.

A propylene polymer composition comprising a propylene polymer prepared by using a zirconocene catalyst having two aryl-substituted indenyl group and having a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.01 to 30 g/10 min and a second propylene polymer prepared by using a zirconocene catalyst having a melt flow rate (MFR) of 30 to 1,000 g/10 min and, if desired, a soft polymer, a ratio of the MFR of the second propylene polymer to the MFR of the second propylene polymer being not less than 30. These propylene polymer compositions are excellent in heat resistance, mechanical strength, tensile elongation at break, etc., and hence they can be favorably used for various structural materials such as those of automobile and electrical appliances, daily necessaries, various films and sheets.

The present invention provides a resin composition based on crystalline polypropylene which includes: (a) 3-65% by weight of a component soluble in paraxylene of 23&deg; C., (b) 35-97% by weight of a component soluble in paraxylene of 135&deg; C. and insoluble in paraxylene of 23&deg; C., and (c) 0-30% by weight of a compoent insoluble in paraxylene of 135&deg; C. The component (a) soluble in paraxylene of 23&deg; C. is composed substantially of an elastomeric constituent (a1) having a content of styrene or its derivative in the range of 0-35% by weight and an intrinsic viscosity (n) in the range of 0.1-5 dl/g, the component (b) soluble is paraxylene of 135&deg; C. and insoluble in paraxylene of 23&deg; C. is composed substantially of a crystalline polyproylene constituent (b1) having an isotactic pentad proportion (mmmm) of 97% or higher, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 6 or higher and a molecular weight distribution (Mz/Mw) of 6 or higher and the component (c) insoluble in paraxylene of 135&deg; C. is composed substantially of a filler (c1).

Polypropylene block-copolymer resin exhibiting high melt tension and improved moldability with balanced stiffness and impact resistance may be molded at high speed into large-sized articles, including, stretched films, with good appearance and resistance to deformation. The block copolymer includes a higher molecular weight polypropylene segment, a lower molecular weight polypropylene segment and an ethylene &agr;-olefin copolymer segment. When subjected to dissolution fractionation m paraxylene, a large proportion is insoluble at 23&deg; C. but soluble at 135&deg; C., and a smaller portion is soluble at 23&deg; C. The block copolymer has a melt flow rate of 0.01 to 5 g/10 min at 230 C. (2.16 kg) and a molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn of 6-20 and Mz/Mw of at least 3.5. A continuous multistage polymerization may be used to form the block copolymer.

A crystalline propyleiie block-copolymer composition exhibiting superior flowability upon molding for use in automobile parts, which composition comprises 41 to 71% by weight of a crystalline propylene block-copolymer composed of a propylene homopolymer portion (Fp) and an ethylene/propylene random copolymer portion (Fc) and having an ethylene content of 1 to 10% by weight and a melt flow rate (MFR) of 20 to 100 g/10 min.; 12 to 22% by weight of a first hydrogenated product of a block-copolymer having a relatively smaller stylene content; 2 to 12% by weight of a second hydrogenated product of a block-copolymer having a relatively greater stylene content; and 15 to 25% by weight of talc, wherein the propylene homopolymer portion (Fp) contains 20 to 50% by weight of a low molecular weight propylene homopolymer having an MFR of 400 to 1,000 g/10 min., the average MFR being 100 to 350 g/10 min. and the isotactic pentad fraction being at least 98%, and wherein the said (Fc) has an intrinsic viscosity of 7 dl/g or higher.

Disclosed is a polypropylene composition comprising (A) polypropylene and (B) a specific propylene-1-butene random copolymer in a specific amount ratio. The propylene-1-butene random copolymer (B) is characterized in that: (1) the copolymer contains 50 to 95% by mol of constituent units from propylene and 50 to 5% by mol of constituent units from 1-butene, (2) the intrinsic viscosity, as measured in decahydronaphthalene at 135.degree. C., is in the range of 0.1 to 12 dl/g, (3) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn), as determined measured by GPC, is not more than 3, and (4) the parameter B value indicating randomness of the copolymerized monomer sequence distribution is in the range of 1.0 to 1.5. Also disclosed is a polypropylene composite film comprising (I) a crystalline polypropylene layer and (II) a layer formed from the polypropylene composition, which is laminated on at least one surface of the crystalline polypropylene layer (I). The polypropylene composition is excellent in heat resistance and low-temperature heat-sealing properties as well as in flexibility and impact resistance. The polypropylene composite film is excellent in not only heat-sealing properties, particularly low-temperature heat-sealing properties, but also transparency, scratch resistance and blocking resistance.

A process for preparing a propylene polymer composition having excellent rigidity, heat resistance and impact resistance, the process comprising conducting multistage polymerization including a step (a) for preparing a propylene (co)polymer (a), a step (b) for preparing a propylene-olefin copolymer (b) and a step (c) for preparing an ethylene-olefin copolymer (c) in the presence of (A) a transition metal compound and (B) a compound activating the transition metal compound (A), in which the steps (a), (b) and (c) may be carried out in any order, each of the second and subsequent stage polymerizations is carried out in the presence of a polymer or polymers obtained by the preceding stage or stages, respectively, and the resulting propylene polymer composition contains the propylene (co)polymer (a) in an amount of 20 to 90% by weight, the propylene-olefin copolymer (b) in an amount of 5 to 75% by weight and the ethylene-olefin copolymer (c) in an amount of 5 to 75% by weight, and has MFR, as measured at 230.degree. Disclosed is a propylene polymer composition comprising (a) a propylene polymer, (b) an olefin type elastomer and (c) a polar group-containing olefin polymer composition obtained by heating (c-1) an olefin polymer containing a carboxyl group or an acid anhydrous group in its molecule and (c-2) an amino compound, each in a specific amount. Also disclosed is a propylene polymer composition comprising (a) a propylene polymer, (b) an olefin type elastomer, (c-1) an olefin polymer containing a carboxyl group or an acid anhydrous group in its molecule and (c-2) an amino compound, each in a specific amount.
