There is provided a vehicle body front structure including left and right mounting brackets provided at the rear ends of left and right bumper beam extensions of a front bumper beam, and left and right frame side mounting members connecting the rear ends of the left and right mounting brackets. The left and right frame side mounting members are provided at the front ends of left and right front side frames. The left and right mounting brackets are formed into an almost L shape by horizontal plate-like left and right joint plate portions and vertical plate-like left and right flanges, and each of the left and right mounting brackets is located on at least one of the upper surface and the lower surface of each of the left and right bumper beam extensions.

An occupant determination apparatus includes a load sensor that detects weight of an occupant seated on a seat of a vehicle, and a determinator determining the weight of the occupant as one status among a plurality of statuses which is set corresponding to the weight based on the measurement weight measured by the load sensor. In a case where an absolute value of acceleration acting on the vehicle becomes equal to or larger than the threshold value set in advance, the determinator determines the weight of the occupant as one of the status among the plurality of statuses based on the measurement weight measured before it becomes the threshold value.

Occupant determination apparatus

An occupant determination apparatus includes a load sensor and a determination section. The load sensor detects a load of an occupant seated in a seat of a vehicle to provide the detected load as a load signal. The determination section determines presence or absence of the occupant and a physical size of the occupant by classifying the load signal into a subject class among a plurality of classes that are ordered from small to large according to the physical sizes based on predetermined threshold loads. The subject class is stored as a determined class. The determination section permits the determined class to transition from a present class to an immediately adjacent larger class when the load signal equal to or larger than a threshold load between the present class and the immediately adjacent larger class continues being received for a threshold time.

Occupant determination apparatus using load sensor

A load sensor detects a load of an occupant on a seat of a vehicle and provides a load signal. A determination section determines a physical size of the occupant by classifying the load signal into a subject class among a plurality of classes ordered from small to large based on threshold loads and performs an inter-class transition of the subject class from a transition source class into a transition destination class based on change of the received load signal. When (i) both the transition source class and the transition destination class belong to an airbag-inflating class that enables inflating of an airbag, and, simultaneously, (ii) the transition destination class is smaller than the transition source class and immediately adjacent to the transition source class, the determination section makes the determined class remain in the transition source class.

This load cell attachment structure includes a male screw which is formed on a load sensing part of the load cell, a nut which attaches the load cell to the attachment plate by engaging with the male screw, and a wave washer which is disposed between the attachment plate and the nut.

A passenger's weight measurement device for a vehicle seat, capable of suppressing generation of an initial load, has a pair of slide rails extending in parallel and fixed to the vehicle floor, and a pair of side frames that support the seat and are disposed above the pair of slide rails. Load cells are disposed between the pair of the slide rails and the pair of the side frames. A set of first connection frames for connecting both ends of the pair of side frames extend in parallel to be perpendicular to the pair of side frames. Second and third connecting frames connect middle parts of the pair of slide rails so as to be perpendicular to the slide rails. The pair of the slide rails and the second and a third connecting frames constitute an H-shaped frame. The load cells include an elastic member having a varied-diameter portion.

Passenger's weight measurement device for vehicle seat and attachment structure for load sensor

A thin, film-form seating switch able to detect whether an occupant sits on the seat or not, wherein, with a spacer () in-between, a film-form substrate () is disposed on one surface of the spacer and a film-form member () on the other surface, a first conductor () equipped with a first terminal () and a first electrode (A) conductive with this and a second conductor () equipped with a second terminal () and a second electrode (A) conductive with this are fixed to one surface of the film-form substrate, and a third conductor (A) for letting the first electrode conduct with the second electrode when an occupant is seated is fixed to the film-form member (). The above arrangement solves a conventional problem that it is troublesome to connect the connection terminals of wires or the like provided on a wiring harness or the like to respective terminals that are separately provided on a film-form substrate and a film-form member.

Seating detection switch

A passenger's weight measurement device for a vehicle seat, capable of suppressing generation of an initial load. The passenger's weight measurement device includes a pair of slide rails extending in parallel and fixed to the vehicle floor, and a pair of side frames that support the seat and are disposed above the pair of slide rails. Load cells are disposed between the pair of the slide rails and the pair of the side frames. A set of first connection frames for connecting both ends the pair of side frames extend in parallel so as to be perpendicular to the pair of side frames. Second and third connecting frames connect middle parts of the pair of slide rails so as to be perpendicular to the slide rails. There is disclosed a passenger's weight measurement device for a vehicle seat, capable of suppressing generation of an initial load. The passenger's weight measurement device includes an upper rail disposed to be movable back and forth on a lower rail fixed to a vehicle floor; a load sensor fixed on the upper rail; and a frame disposed on the load sensor and below a vehicle seat, wherein a rod extends from the load sensor to penetrate the frame and to be inserted into an insertion hole formed in a center of a leaf spring, the leaf spring is curved into an angle shape to separate the center of the leaf spring from the frame, a nut is engaged with the rod on the leaf spring, and both hems of the leaf spring abut on the frame in a state that the leaf spring is fastened by the nut.

A seat-weight sensor includes a load cell having a load sensor arranged therein and a support for holding a support shaft of the load cell. The support includes a convex portion to hold the support shaft and a pair of flange portions arranged at both sides of the convex portion and fixed to a vehicle floor side. The support has a pair of slots arranged at a perimeter of the convex portion and for reducing a physical effect that the pair of flanges provides to the convex portion.
