Provided is an air conditioning apparatus that is capable of suppressing increases in volume and cost of the apparatus and performing more suitable overheating protection. An electric compressor is an inverter-integrated electric compressor () integrally including a compressor (), an electric motor () that drives the compressor (), and an inverter () including a temperature sensor () that detects the temperature in the vicinity of a semiconductor switching device, wherein a controller () estimates a discharge temperature of the compressor () on the basis of a correlation of respective pressure loading characteristics for the detected temperature of the inverter (), for the rotational speed of the compressor (), and for the motive force of the compressor () in a refrigerating cycle ().

Provided is an air conditioning apparatus that is capable of suppressing increases in volume and cost of the apparatus and performing more suitable overheating protection. An electric compressor is an inverter-integrated electric compressor integrally including a compressor, an electric motor that drives the compressor, and an inverter including a temperature sensor that detects the temperature in the vicinity of a semiconductor switching device, wherein a controller estimates a discharge temperature of the compressor on the basis of a correlation of respective pressure loading characteristics for the detected temperature of the inverter, for the rotational speed of the compressor, and for the motive force of the compressor in a refrigerating cycle.

The invention provides a heat-transfer-medium heating apparatus using a PTC heater and a vehicular air-conditioning apparatus using such a heating apparatus, which have superior heat-conducting properties and ease of assembly, which can improve the heating capacity, and which can ensure sufficient electrical insulation. Included are a PTC heater having a stacked construction in which an electrode plate, an incompressible insulating layer, and a compressible heat-conducting layer are sequentially provided on each side of a PTC element so as to sandwich the PTC element; and heat-transfer-medium circulating boxes, respectively disposed in close contact with the two surfaces of the PTC heater and having circulating channels for the heat-transfer-medium formed therein. The heat transfer medium circulating inside the heat-transfer-medium circulating boxes is heated by radiant heat from the two surfaces of the PTC heater.

In a compressor in which a compression mechanism incorporated in a housing is driven by a drive shaft penetrating the housing, and the compression mechanism is lubricated by mist-form lubricating oil contained in a low-pressure gas refrigerant sucked into the housing, the lubricating oil in a space is prevented from entering a bearing and deteriorating grease in the bearing. An equalizing hole is formed to allow the space to communicate with the atmosphere, the space being defined between the bearing pivotally supporting the outer end of the drive shaft on the housing and a shaft seal disposed on the inside of the bearing to seal a gap between the drive shaft and the housing.

A compressor having a capacity-controlling mechanism is provided, by which the inner-peripheral surface of a blind opening provided in a piston is subjected to abrasion due to sliding and rotating motions of a coil spring in the piston. In the capacity-controlling mechanism, the coil spring is covered by a cover made of abrasion resistant material and the covered coil spring is arranged in the blind opening, or a head of the coil spring is engaged to an inner surface of the blind opening.

A scroll compressor has a stationary scroll and a swivel scroll engaged with each other in a hermetic housing. A sealed terminal is provided to send signals outside of the housing from a sensor that is provided within the housing. The sealed terminal is inserted into a fitting hole that passes through the outer wall of the housing. A push nut having a plurality of nails is pressed into the fitting hole to hold the sealed terminal within the fitting hole. The push nut has a plurality of nails having an outer diameter slightly larger than the inner diameter of the fitting hole.

A scroll type fluid machine has a stationary scroll 1 and a swivel scroll 2 engaged therewith contained within a hermetic housing 4. A plurality of legs 15 are provided on the outer circumferential edge of an end plate 11 of the stationary scroll 1, and are fixed by bolts 64 to a frame 5 supporting a rotating shaft 3 via a bearing 52. A rotation prevention mechanism 6 is interposed between the frame 5 and the swivel scroll 2. The swivel scroll 2 is connected to the rotating shaft 3 so as to make revolutional swivel motions. The diameter of the end plate 11 of the stationary scroll 1 is shortened, and thereby the hermetic housing 4 is made smaller. A cut out recess portion 25 is provided at each position corresponding to the plurality of legs 15 of the outer circumferential portion of a circular end plate 21 of the swivel scroll 2.

A scroll fluid machine has a stationary scroll having a first end plate and a first spiral wrap projecting from one side of the first end plate. The first spiral wrap has a tip end. A swivel scroll has a second end plate and a second spiral wrap that projects from the one side of the second end plate. The second spiral wrap has a second end tip, and the first and second spiral wraps are engaged with each other. A first thin steel plate is provided on one side of the end plate between the first end plate and the second tip end. A first thin steel plate has a surface side that faces the second tip end. Further, a second thin steel plate is on one side of the second end plate between the second end plate and the first tip end. The second thin steel plate has a surface side that faces the first tip end. Both of the first and second thin steel plates are provided with conformable layers on the surfaces facing the tip ends. The conformable layers comprise a material that is softer than the first and second tip ends so that during operation a gap between the center portion of the tip ends and the opposite scroll end plate does not become too large. A leakage passage is provided in at least one of the thin plates so as to interconnect a central compression chamber formed by the spiral wraps and the outer circumferential chambers.
