A sound output electronic apparatus includes: a key input corresponding to elements of a predetermined braille pattern; a memory for storing braille data which was input from the key input; and a device for generating the input data stored in the memory as sounds. The data of the braille data which was input and stored can be recognized by sound the information. Also provided is a comparator for comparing the input data which was input from the key input and the input data stored in the memory and generator for generating information indicative of the result of the comparison by the comparator as sound information. The braille data which is being input is compared with the braille data stored to see if they coincide or not. The comparison result can be recognized by a sound output.

Sound output electronic apparatus

The invention relates to a pattern information reading apparatus in which pattern information such as characters or figures is read and stored in a memory and, thereafter, the stored pattern information is converted into tactile information and output as necessary. The apparatus has means for adjusting a moving speed of the pattern information which is output as tactile information. The apparatus is fitted to the reading capability of the user by such an adjustment. The apparatus also has means for comparing to see if the information which has been read at a preceding time point coincides with the information which was read at the present time point or not with respect to the pattern information such as characters or figures. By updating the different read information, the amount of storage data can be reduced.

A pattern reading apparatus includes a conversion device for reading optical pattern information and converting it into electrical signals. A display device is provided for displaying pattern information by vibration of plural vibrating pins, the displayed pattern information corresponding to the pattern information read by the conversion device. A reading period determining device is provided for variably setting the reading period of the pattern information read by the conversion device, and a control circuit causes the electrical signals output from the conversion device to be displayed by the display device according to the reading period set by the reading period determining device.

Pattern reading apparatus having variable reading period

An image information processing apparatus having a multi-function switch includes an image information reader for reading image information, wherein the reading frequency of the reader can be varied. A first switch is provided for switching between a first reading mode in which the image information printed on a sheet is read by the reader, and a second reading mode in which image information displayed on a screen is read by the reader. A second switch is provided for selecting between a plurality of different reading frequencies in the second reading mode. Control circuitry is provided for controlling the reader to read the image information at a predetermined reading frequency higher than the plurality of reading frequencies in the first mode, and to read the image information at one of the plurality of reading frequencies selected by the second switch in the second reading mode. The control circuitry tests whether a power supply of the apparatus is sufficient when the second switch is actuated in the first reading mode.

Image information processing apparatus having a multi-function switch

Selecting switches are provided near a converter for converting an optical image into an electric signal, thereby enabling the electric signal before or after it was stored to be effectively selected. A plurality of convertors are provided and when an electric signal is not output from one of the convertors, the other convertors can be used. The analog electric signal output from the converter is binarized by a reference level signal before it fluctuates. An electric power consumption when the apparatus is not used is prevented by a power controller arranged near a sensing display.

The invention provides a conversation device having a space key for instructing feeding of a printing tape without printing, a pulse oscillator for producing pulses of predetermined period upon depression of the space key, a counter for counting the pulses generated from the pulse oscillator, a one-shot multivibrator for producing a pulse to indicate that the count value has reached a predetermined value, a flip-flop which is set by the pulse from the one-shot multivibrator and allows the pulses from the pulse oscillator to be supplied to a motor driver for amplifying the pulses and which is reset when the predetermined number of pulses from the pulse oscillator is received and prohibits the supply of the pulse oscillator to the motor driver, and a pulse motor for feeding the printing tape without printing. Therefore, when the flip-flop is set, the motor driver causes the pulse motor to drive the printing tape for a predetermined length corresponding to a plurality of characters. The device further includes a CPU for discriminating a depressed key and for supplying a signal to the motor driver which causes the pulse motor to drive the printing tape for a length corresponding to one character.

A display device for providing assistance in phonation training or the like has a microphone, comparators, latch circuits, and LED's. When a teacher produces reference sounds, his voice spectrum is displayed on a screen by red LED's, for example, and is continuously displayed until commanded otherwise. Then, a student practices and his voice spectrum is displayed on the same screen by green LED's. The student can repeatedly practice by erasing his voice spectrum until the two spectra coincide with each other. A teacher's voice spectrum may be stored in a ROM or the like in advance. When a student wishes to practice, the teacher's voice spectrum may be read out from the ROM and displayed on the screen. The student can then practice in a similar manner.
