According to one embodiment, an ultrasonic bonding apparatus includes an ultrasonic transducer, a distal-end tool, an ultrasonic horn and an ultrasonic oscillator. The ultrasonic oscillator includes an oscillation circuit and a control device. The ultrasonic oscillator applies the voltage oscillated by the oscillation circuit to the ultrasonic transducer. The control device is configured to detect a voltage reflection ratio from the voltage and current supplied from the oscillation circuit and to control the frequency of the voltage generated by the oscillation circuit, thereby to minimize the voltage reflection ratio.

Ultrasonic bonding apparatus

A display device has an array formed on a substrate including a cathode wiring line layer, a gate wiring line layer and an insulating layer for electrically insulating the cathode wiring line layer and the gate wiring line layer from each other. Holes are formed at the crossing portion between the cathode wiring line layer and the gate wiring line layer so as to penetrate through the insulating layer, and resistive layer and an emitter layer are provided in the holes. The resistive layer has such a structure that conductive fine particles are dispersed in a base material of insulating fine particles, and the emitter layer is formed of a fine particle material. The insulating layer between the cathode electrode lines and the gate electrodes is formed of a silicon oxide film containing fluorine. When a large number of elements are formed over a large area in an electron emission device using fine particle emitters, there can be provided electron emission elements which can suppress the unevenness of the electron emission amount. According to the present invention, there can be provided a large-area and uniform display device which can be operated with a low driving voltage, and have a long lifetime.

Method of manufacturing electron emitter and associated display

There is provided a field emission type display which is capable of suppressing deterioration of image quality which otherwise occurs due to stepwise cuts and to the increase of wiring resistance caused by a thin width of a cathode line and which causes less failures. The display includes a plurality of cathode lines having an equal line width within the pixel and is structurally based on a multiple gradation representing a scheme of controlling spatial gradation display by changing the number of field emission type emitters to be driven by changing the number of cathode lines to be selected.

A thin film magnetic head has a reproducing element or/and recording element which is held from the direction of its thickness between a first ceramic substrate and a second ceramic substrate. The reproducing element or/and recording element is positioned at substantially the center with respect to the direction of track width. The first and second ceramic substrates hold the reproducing element or/and recording element from, for example, the direction of track width. The reproducing element or/and recording element is provided with a yoke type reproducing part which has at least one pair of magnetic cores with a magnetic gap therebetween on the side of a medium opposed face and a magnetoresistance effect element to which a signal magnetic flux from a magnetic recording medium is led through the pair of magnetic cores. Heat due to a sense current and heat due to the contact between the reproducing element or/and recording element and the magnetic recording medium are efficiently dissipated to the first and second ceramic substrates, thereby retarding a temperature increase of the reproducing element or/and recording element. Abrasion in the neighborhood of the reproducing element or/and recording element is retarded by the first and second ceramic substrates. A magnetic recording apparatus is provided with a magnetic recording medium, and a magnetic head slider having the thin film magnetic head described above.

The present invention of reflective liquid crystal display device include in: substrate having a surface; a pixel electrode on the surface; a first liquid crystal layer provided on the substrate; a second liquid crystal layer provided on the first liquid crystal layer; a counter electrode formed on the second liquid crystal layer; and a separating member provided between the first liquid crystal layer and the second liquid crystal layer. The first and second liquid crystal layers constituted by liquid crystal material having Bragg reflection(selective reflection in the same twist direction. The separating layer constituted optical compensator.

Reflective liquid crystal display device

Large size flat display panels are used in many technical fields, with television (TV) sets, personal computers (PCs) and advertising equipment. A multiple panel display device has been developed which employs a plurality of separate flat-surface display panel modules united by adhesion together into a matrix array of rows and columns. Juncture sections of the panels have non-displayable regions between adjacent ones of the panels. To avoid seam lines visible to the human eye, the seams are minimized in width. To this end, the peripheral ends of display panels are provided with a concave/projection configuration or gap for limiting excessive expansion of a sealing material used. This significantly reduces the width of such non-display region at the juncture section of neighboring display panels bonded together.

A liquid crystal display device includes a matrix array of picture elements formed on a plurality of tiled switching array substrates, a first substrate having pixel electrodes arranged in parallel on the picture elements, a second substrate having a counter electrode, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The picture elements include first picture elements arranged on every column from both sides of a connecting boundary A-A' of the switching array substrates and second picture elements arranged alternately with the first picture elements, and have a black matrix for shielding a region between the adjacent picture elements. A plurality of data lines may be disposed collectively between the first picture elements. With the configuration as described above, a liquid crystal display device having high productivity, a large display screen and high display quality can be provided.

A semiconductor device comprising a wiring circuit board and a semiconductor chip mounted through a bump electrode on the circuit board, a space between the circuit board and the semiconductor chip as well as a periphery of the semiconductor chip being encapsulated with a resin containing a filler. The image display apparatus is capable of displaying an image on a large screen in which non-display regions are completely eliminated or minimized. The image display apparatus comprises an opposite board in which common electrodes made of transparent conductive resin are respectively formed on both surfaces of a transparent substrate.
