An apparatus of user equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry coupled to a memory, where to configure the UE for New Radio (NR) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) sidelink communication. The processing circuitry is to determine a set of candidate resources of the UE from a sidelink resource pool, the sidelink resource divided into multiple time slots, frequency channels, and frequency sub-channels. Sidelink control information (SCI) is encoded for transmission to a second UE via a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH). The SCI indicates a plurality of transmission resources of the set of candidate resources. A transport block is mapped across the plurality of transmission resources. A physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) is encoded for transmission to the second UE using the plurality of transmission resources, the PSSCH encoded to include the mapped transport block.

Resource allocation and processing behaviors for NR V2X sidelink communications

Systems and methods of providing RAT co-existence and congestion control in V2V communications are generally described. A vUE detects specific non-LTE RAT transmissions in a listening period of a PSCCH or PSSCH, determines whether a metric has been met and reselects to a non-overloaded channel to communicate with other vUEs or the eNB. The manner of reselection is dependent on the RAT specific or V2X service priorities of the channels, as well as whether the channels are V2V service dependent.

Intra- and inter-RAT co-existence and congestion control for LTE PC5-based vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication

Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to new mechanisms of resource allocation for transmission of positioning or ranging (e.g., sounding) reference signals. NR V2X sidelink structures for PSCCH cover enhancement

A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for New Radio (NR) communications above a 52.6 GHz carrier frequency, the processing circuitry is to decode radio resource control (RRC) signaling to obtain a cyclic shift value in time domain. The cyclic shift value is associated with a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) antenna port (AP) of a plurality of available DM-RS APs. A single carrier based waveform DM-RS sequence corresponding to the DM-RS AP is generated using a base sequence and the cyclic shift value. The single carrier based waveform DM-RS sequence is encoded with uplink data for transmission to a base station using a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using a carrier above the 52.6 GHz carrier frequency.

Reference signal and control information processing in 5G-NR wireless systems

A method and apparatus of a device that performs a new radio (NR) downlink (DL) positioning reference signal (PRS) resource scheduling is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device configures at least one of a NR DL PRS Resource Pool, a NR DL PRS Resource Set, a NR DL PRS Resource, and a muting pattern. In addition, the configured NR DL PRS Resource Set may be assigned to a separate Transmission Reception Point (TRP). Furthermore, a list of configured NR DL PRS Resource Sets can be assigned to a separate TRP. The assigned NR DL PRS Resource Set may include PRS Resources with different spatial filters. In addition, the assigned NR DL PRS Resource Set can include PRS Resources with the same spatial filter.

Method and system for DL PRS transmission for accurate rat-dependent NR positioning

A wireless communication device is disclosed for setting transmission slot priorities in a broadcast environment. Upon receipt of a broadcast signal from the wireless communication environment, the UE analyzes the received signal to determine time slots in which members of its own group are transmitting. The UE then sets priorities of previously-used time slots to be low for allocation purposes. When the UE needs to transmit a signal, it first performs allocation of time slots within the signal frame. This allocation is performed based on the earlier-set priorities such that time slots identified as being used by other group members will not be used unless necessary.

Sidelink physical layer procedures for collision avoidance, HARQ feedback, and CSI acquisition

Systems, methods, and circuitries are disclosed for determining a position of a wireless device. In one example, an apparatus for a first wireless communication device including baseband circuitry having a radio frequency (RF) interface configured to transmit and receive RF signals is provided. The apparatus includes one or more processors configured to process a signal received from a second wireless communication device to identify at least first arrival path and a different arrival path between the first wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device; and determine a location of the second wireless communication device based on the first arrival path and the different arrival path.

Techniques for improving new radio (NR) positioning performance

Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may detect one or more LTE synchronization signals from an eNB over an LTE Uu interface between the UE and the eNB. The LTE synchronization signals may be detected in resources allocated for LTE communication. The LTE synchronization signals may be detected in accordance with an LTE protocol. The UE may determine, based on the LTE synchronization signals, a reference timing and a reference frequency for NR vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication over an NR PC5 interface with another UE.

Sidelink communication under control of LTE UU interface or NR interface

Methods disclosed herein may include receiving, at a gNB from a UE, a minimum time gap between a reception at the UE of a configuring message that configures a sending of an SL transmission by the UE and the sending of the SL transmission. Alternatively, the minimum time gap may be measured from the reception at the UE of a DCI message that triggers an SL transmission and the sending of the SL transmission. The method may further include determining, at the gNB, timing information (e.g., an offset, or an absolute time) for the UE to use to schedule the SL transmission, the timing information based on the minimum time gap; generating, at the gNB, a message including a field indicating the timing information; and sending, from the gNB, the message to the UE. Analogous methods for UEs are also disclosed herein. Systems implementing these methods are also disclosed.

Systems and methods of providing timing of SL transmission when scheduled by NR gNB

A user equipment (UE), gNodeB or network component can be configured to support a data-aided sidelink synchronization. In response to losing a sidelink synchronization reference, sidelink synchronization tracking or performing an initial sidelink synchronization, data-aided sidelink synchronization can be performed by deriving or maintaining a sidelink synchronization from a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH), or a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) transmission of another network device, UE or vehicle to everything (V2X) based on data of another reference signal that is with the PSCCH or the PSSCH transmission.

Data-aided sidelink synchronization for NR V2X communication

Implementations of this disclosure generally may relate to the field of wireless communications. More specifically, implementations described in this disclosure relate to different 3GPP LTE and LTE-A system enhancements to address the issue and support reliable V2X operation in the high mobility environments. Several solutions to improve the V2X system performance in the high mobility vehicular channel propagation conditions are described. Some aspects relate to the suggestion of a new DMRS patterns within individual subframes that promote more accurate CFO estimation. Moreover, another aspect provides DMRS mapping or puncturing patterns to transmit individual DMRS in a periodic pattern on respective OFDM/SC-FDMA symbols so that they do not occupy all REs of the OFDM/SC-FDMA symbols, respectively.

V2X performance enhancements in high speed environments

Groupcast and unicast in new radio vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication

A user equipment (UE), gNodeB or network component can be configured to support Quality of Service (QoS) aware sidelink communications for vehicle to everything (V2X) communication operations. The QoS aware sidelink communications can include operating QoS congestion control, QoS control and adaptation, QoS aware resource allocation, QoS aware in-device coexistence operations, as well as sensing and reservation based on sidelink resource allocations. Transmitter constraints can be provided according to a Quality of Service (QoS) aware congestion control that enables a fair usage of spectrum resources with one or more V2X devices, based on QoS attributes. Different V2X packets can be scheduled/filtered based on combinations of the QoS attributes. A priority of one radio access technology (RAT) over another can be made based on the QoS attributes associated with the different V2X packets being delivered in sidelink transmissions for a QoS aware in-device coexistence operation.

QoS-aware congestion control, resource allocation and in-device coexistence solutions for NR V2X sidelink communications

A vehicle may wirelessly communicate with another vehicle via a physical channel (a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) channel) that is robust and reliable under high mobility propagation conditions. The physical channel may be created by modifying an existing long-term evolution (LTE) physical channel, such as an LTE sidelink (SL) channel. For instance, the V2V physical channel may be created by increasing, by a particular factor, the subcarrier spacing of legacy LTE channels (e.g., from 15 kilohertz (kHz) to 30 kHz). Additionally, a symbol duration and a fast Fourier transform (FFT) size for the V2V physical channel may each be reduced by the same factor. Doing so may enable the V2V physical channel to be implemented without significant modifications to other aspects of the LTE standard.
