The present disclosure relates to an axial flux motor comprising a stator assembly and a rotor assembly. The axial flux motor also includes a cooling jacket including fins that extend between electromagnets of the stator assembly. The axial flux motor rotor assembly also includes an air cooling arrangement to provide air cooling to the stator assembly. The axial flux motor also includes stator cores having enlarged end plates.

An electric motor can automatically generate an internal pressure around conductor windings of the stator. The electric motor can be used on an electric aircraft or other application having variable atmospheric pressure. The electric motor includes a fan configured to blow the gas into a flow path to generate increased internal pressure about the conductor windings. The fan may be mounted to the rotator of the electric motor. The flow path is restricted to increase the pressure difference of the air entering the electric motor.

Internally pressurized electric motor

A compact electric motor assembly unit includes an electric motor and an integrated thermal management system. A heat exchanger may be mounted directly to the electric motor and/or form part of the motor housing. A coolant pump may be mounted directly to the electric motor. The coolant pump may be connected either to a drive shaft of the electric motor or to a gear train disposed inside of the electric motor. In certain cases, the coolant pathways for the thermal management system are all located internal of the electric motor assembly unit.

An axial flux electric can include a motor assembly including a motor shaft, a stator assembly, and a rotor assembly. The stator assembly can include a plurality of stator cores about which a wire coil is wound, wherein one or more of the stator cores includes a stator body with an internal fluid passageway for receiving a cooling fluid.

A motor assembly can include a motor shaft, a stator assembly, and a rotor assembly, and can include a cooling jacket. The cooling jacket can include an inner wall facing radially inwardly towards the stator assembly and an opposite outer wall facing radially outwardly, a circumferential internal fluid passageway for allowing a cooling fluid to be pumped through an interior of the cooling jacket, the internal fluid passageway being disposed between the inner and outer walls and extending between an inlet and an outlet, a mounting pad receiving, at an opening in the outer wall, a heat generating component associated with the motor assembly, the opening being in fluid communication with the internal fluid passageway such that the cooling fluid can provide cooling to the heat generating component.

A power converter system includes a printed circuit board having a first connector for receiving low voltage control signals and a second connector for receiving input voltages from one or more power generators and transmitting output voltages to a power distribution unit. Power devices are mounted onto the printed circuit board to manage the input voltages and to generate the output voltages. An enclosure is mounted around the printed circuit board and power devices. The power devices engage interior surfaces of the enclosure forming a conductive heat path between the power devices, the interior surfaces, and exterior surfaces of the enclosure. The heat path conductively transfers heat from the power devices to the exterior surfaces.

Power converter system

A gate drive circuit of a wide band gap power device (IGBT) includes a buffer, a di/dt sensing network, a turn-on circuit portion and turn-off circuit portion. The buffer, responsive to turn-on, supplies a first current via the first current path to the gate of the IGBT, and responsive to turn-off ceases the supply of the first current. The di/dt sensing network receives a feedback control signal representative of a voltage measurement across a parasitic inductance that exists between a Kelvin emitter and a power emitter of the IGBT. The turn-on circuit portion, responsive to turn-on and a parasitic inductance of zero volts, supplies a second current via a second current path to the gate of the IGBT. The turn-off circuit portion, responsive to turn-off and a parasitic inductance of zero volts, discharges a gate capacitance of the IGBT through both the first current path and a third current path.

Active gate driver for wide band gap power semiconductor devices

A current sensing system includes a pre-calibrated busbar, a voltage sensor, a temperature sensor and a controller. The pre-calibrated busbar has a known resistance, a known variation in resistance with respect to temperature and known dimensions. The voltage sensor detects a difference in voltage between a first location and a second location on the pre-calibrated busbar. The temperature sensor detects an ambient temperature of the pre-calibrated busbar. The controller determines a resistance of the busbar between the first location and the second location based on the known resistance, known variation in resistance, known dimensions and the ambient temperature. The controller additionally determines a current flowing through the pre-calibrated busbar based on the difference in voltage and the determined resistance. The current sensing system has numerous applications including using the determined current to control an operating condition of a solid state circuit breaker or a solid state power controller.

A solid state circuit breaker assembly includes a transistor, a transient voltage suppression device, and a circuit board. The transistor and/or the transient voltage suppression device may be electrically connected to the circuit board. The solid state circuit breaker module may be configured to be connected to one or more non-scalable modules to regulate current. The solid state circuit breaker module may be configured to receive one or more scalable modules. The transistor and/or the transient voltage suppression device may be disposed on the circuit board in a substantially symmetrical configuration.

A method of monitoring an electrical system having a plurality of electrical loads may include operating the plurality of electrical loads, obtaining a combined power profile for the plurality of electrical loads, decomposing the combined power profile into individual electrical load profiles from the combined power profile, and controlling operation of one or more electrical loads of the plurality of electrical devices according to the individual electrical load profile of the one or more electrical loads. Decomposing the combined power profile may include applying multi-dimensional event decomposition to the combined power profile to identify and disaggregate the combined power profile into the individual electrical load profiles. Decomposing the combined power profile may include detecting power consumption events of the plurality of electrical loads. Decomposing the combined power profile may include classifying the detected power consumption events.
