Methods of embedding and detecting a watermark into-from a digital image are disclosed. A method of embedding a watermark in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention into a digital image, the method comprising: generating a difference from an original image; segmenting said difference image into sub-regions; and calculating a watermark block into each sub-region by adding said watermark block with pixel values of each sub-region.

A voice control apparatus of a vacuum cleaner includes: a sense signal detector for detecting a sense signal provided from a user to provide a voice recognizable environment in an ambience; a voice command recognizing unit for temporarily stopping a driving of a motor upon receiving the detected sense signal and, at the same time, outputting a voice command control signal previously set in a voice command set corresponding to a voice command instructed by the user; and a driving command controller for controlling a function and a mode of a vacuum cleaner upon receiving the voice command control signal. By providing a voice recognizable environment, the vacuum cleaner can be effectively controlled through a user's voice command even in an environment with a strong noise.

A method of introducing a non-perceptional signal (watermark) to a digital media data is disclosed. The method is based on the representation of source digital data using a special matrix, insertion of a digital watermark into the special matrix to receive the watermarked matrix, and generation of the watermarked data using the source data and the watermarked matrix. In addition, watermark detection of the watermarked data is performed by calculating the special matrix from the watermarked data.

Methods of embedding and detecting a watermark into/from a digital image are disclosed. A method of embedding a watermark in accordance with the present invention includes generating a predicted image of an original image by using a linear predictor; generating a difference image by subtracting said predicted image from said original image or vice versa; and segmenting said difference image into sub-regions. The method further includes the steps of calculating a watermark amplitude for each sub-region or for each pixel of each sub-region; performing a channel coding process on a set of watermark data bits; calculating a watermark block for each sub-region by using said encoded data bits, a pseudo random sequence (PRS) and said watermark amplitude; and embedding said watermark block into each sub-region by adding said watermark block with pixel values of each sub-region. As a result of the method described, the embedded information is robust against any modifications including loss data compression, filtering, channel noise, cropping, geometrical transformations, and etc.

An iterative error-correction for decoding digital data transmitted or broadcasted is disclosed. The present invention is especially effective when there is high transmission noise and is applicable in decoding Turbo codes. The iterative decoding generally utilizes at least two parallel decoding processes and comprises two iterations from which the decoded data is obtained by combining decoded elements of the iterations. Also, for each iteration, an intermediate decoded data element is multiplied by a scaling factor based upon parameters of the previously decoded data element block and is used on the next decoding iteration. By utilizing at least two parallel decoding processes, the number of errors is significantly reduced and the decoding process may be optimally terminated.
