In one embodiment, a Light Emitting Diode (LED) driving device for driving a plurality of LEDs has a switching matrix utilizing a plurality of one of a turn off thyristors or turn off triacs coupled to the plurality of LEDs. A controller is coupled to the switching matrix responsive to a voltage of a rectified AC halfwave, wherein combinations of the plurality of LEDs are altered to ensure a maximum operating voltage of the plurality of LEDs is not exceeded. A current limiting device is coupled to the combinations of the plurality of LED to regulate current. In a second embodiment an offline charge pump utilizes a switching matrix to recombine capacitors in accordance with the voltage on the AC half wave and then in, accordance with a desired output voltage to feed a load, such that said recombinations occur at a frequency much higher than the frequency of the AC rectified half wave such that charge is 'pumped' from the input at one voltage to the output at another voltage through the AC halfwave while, providing a constant output voltage to the load.

Direct drive LED driver and offline charge pump and method therefor

An improved high-voltage AC power supply energizes and regulates plasma actuators for aerodynamic flow control. Such plasma actuators are used, for example, on aerodynamic surfaces, wind turbine blades, and the like for vehicle control, drag or noise reduction, or efficient power generation. Various embodiments of the power supply are small, compact, lightweight, portable, modular, self-contained in its own housing, easily replaceable and swappable, autonomous, self-cooling, and/or gangable in series or parallel to provide any desired control authority over the selected surface. In some embodiments, the parameters for the plasma electronics can be manually selected and pre-programmed for a specific application, while in preferred embodiments, the plasma electronics can automatically identify the appropriate parameters and self-tune the performance of the plasma actuators.

Plasma control and power system

An improved heart rate monitor is provided that can detect and distinguish a heartbeat from an otherwise contaminated system with noise components potentially larger than the signal of interest. Embodiments of the inventive monitor have an amplification system that eliminates large noise components so as not to saturate the system during detection of a desired low amplitude signal. In embodiments the elimination of noise components is accomplished through wavelet decomposition, and the removal of undesired components including interference components during adaptive gain control (AGC), in addition to hunting algorithms which minimize the error with techniques such as neural network least mean squares type back propagation algorithms.

Methods and circuits are provided to create small, power minimizing, multi-channel high voltage drivers for micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS). A resistor calibration circuit is introduced to allow on chip resistor dividers to be calibrated against a single precision high voltage resistor divider, eliminating the cost and printed circuit board real estate associated with multiple resistor dividers connected to each channel. Additionally, a multiple-power rail configuration is provided to reduce power to the overall system by producing several rails generated by a boost converter or a capacitive charge pump, where the voltage output of the rails is produced to group rails of lesser voltage requirement rather than connecting all channels to the same high voltage rail on a dynamic basis.

The present invention discloses a cover for a hunting stand which can be removably attached to an existing hunting stand. The present invention is adaptable to fit many sizes and shapes of existing hunting stands; however, one of the common types that it is adaptable to fit is referred to as a tripod hunting stand which comprises an upper hunting stand mounted on a tripod set of legs. The present invention comprises a framework having means for attachment to the railing of the exising hunting stand. The present invention also has a canvas cover mounted thereon which cover has multiple windows provided therein.
