The invention relates to an electrode for detecting a bioelectrical signal, for example EEG, on a skin surface. The electrode comprises a coating comprising iridium oxide, where the coating has a nanostructured surface pattern providing for a capillary and hydrophilic effect when in use.

Electrode for detecting bioelectrical signals

A wearable EEG monitor for continuously monitoring the EEG of a user through capacitive coupling to an ear canal of a user includes an ear insert () for positioning within the human ear canal, having at least two capacitive electrodes () for recording a signal. The electrodes are coated with a dielectricum for electrical insulation. The electrodes are connected to an amplifier (). The amplifier has an input impedance matched to the impedance of the electrodes. The invention further provides a method of monitoring brain waves.

An ear device for arrangement at an ear of a person and provided with at least two electrodes for having skin contact and detecting a bioelectrical signal when in use, the ear device includes a deformable ear canal part adapted to be arranged in an ear canal of the person, and an external ear part adapted to be arranged at the ear external to the ear canal and being provided with at least one external ear electrode for detecting a bioelectrical signal, the external ear part includes at least one bendable arm which is connected to the ear canal part and is adapted to exert a pressure such that the at least one external ear electrode is pressed against the skin when in use.

Generic ear device with electrodes

A hearing system includes a hearing aid () and personal communication device () connected via a short range data communication link. The hearing aid has a signal processor () processing an audio signal according to audio processing parameters, a sub-system applying respective sets of processing parameters for at least two modes, a classifier component () statistically analyzing the environment by comparing specific characteristics of an electrical input signal to one or more thresholds. A program selector component () selects automatically an appropriate mode for the signal processing sub-system according to the classifier output. The personal communication device offers the user an interface for controlling and interacting with the program selector component of the hearing aid, and for generating and transmitting a notification to the hearing aid. Upon reception of the notification, the processor adjusts at least one of the one or more thresholds used by the classifier component.

Hearing aid having an adaptive classifier

Communication channels between a personal communication device and at least one head-worn device

A hearing assistive system includes a personal communication device and a head-worn device. The personal communication device has a user interface for user interaction, a processor controlling the user interface and for running an application program, and input and output transducers. The head-worn device has an input transducer adapted for converting sound into an electric signal applied to a processor outputting a modified audio signal via an output transducer. The application program generates a data packet modulated on an audio carrier for output via the output transducer, decodes a data packet modulated on an audio carrier and received via the input transducer. The head-worn device has an audio signaling block having a detector block and a response block. The detector block detects and decodes the data packet received by the input transducer. The response block generates a data packet modulated on an audio carrier for output via the output transducer.

A hearing assistive system comprises a personal communication device () and a head-worn device (. The personal communication device () has a user interface () being adapted for user interaction, a processor () controlling the user interface () and being adapted to run an application program, a short-range radio (), and an output transducer (). The head-worn device () has an input transducer () adapted for converting sound into an electric signal applied to a processor () outputting a modified audio signal via an output transducer (). The application program being adapted to generate and output a data packet () on an audio carrier via the output transducer (). A mobile communication device () receives an audio stream as input and delivers a processed audio stream as output. The mobile communication device has a data connection providing access to the Internet, and a short range data connection for delivering a processed audio stream as output to a specific hearing aid (). The mobile communication device acquires a data set containing hearing aid settings for the specific hearing aid from a remote server (), and adjusts the emulation software application by means of the data set containing hearing aid settings for the specific hearing aid (). The mobile communication device transmits the control signals and a processed audio stream to the specific hearing aid via the short range data connection and the specific hearing aid outputs the audio signal to the user without additional amplification. The invention also provides a method of signal processing in a mobile communication device.

Hearing aid and a method for audio streaming

A hearing system includes a hearing aid () and a personal communication device (), and both have a short range data transceiver () for short range data communication. The hearing aid () has a signal processor () processing an electric input signal according to predefined audio processing parameters, and a signal processing sub-system with at least two modes of operation applying respective sets of audio processing parameters. A program selector component () has a classifier () analyzing the electric input signal and classifies an auditory environment of the hearing aid (). The personal communication device () has an auxiliary classifier component () monitoring the use of the personal communication device, and generates and transmits a notification upon detection of a change of the environment. The program selector component () receives the notification from the auxiliary classifier component (), and takes the notification into account when selecting one of the at least two modes of operation for the signal processing sub-system.

The personal communication device offers the user a user interface for controlling and interacting with the program selector component of the hearing aid, and for generating and transmitting a notification to the hearing aid. Upon reception of the notification, the processor at least one of said one or more thresholds used by the classifier component.

Hearing aid having a classifier for classifying auditory environments and sharing settings

A personal wearable EEG monitor () is adapted to be carried at the head of a person. The EEG monitor comprises an EEG sensor part having skin surface electrodes () for measuring EEG signals from said person. The EEG monitor comprises an EEG signal analyzer (') adapted for monitoring and analyzing the EEG signal. The EEG monitor () performs at least one of the following: providing a stimulus to the person, requesting the person to perform a stimuli creating act, or identifying a stimuli creating ambient sound. The EEG monitor comprises means for identifying an induced response from the EEG signal caused by the stimuli, and a classifier for deciding whether the skin surface electrodes receive EEG signals. The invention further provides a method of monitoring EEG signals of a person.
