A horizontal filter press () is provided with a track () and a plurality of filter plate assemblies () supported by side bars (). A washer carriage (), which is movably supported on the track (), includes a washer unit () for washing the filter plate assemblies (). The washer unit () may include a wash water manifold () having a first outlet () for feeding wash water to a first spindle () and a second outlet () for feeding wash water to a second spindle (). Each of the spindles () may include a reel () for spooling a flexible hose () thereon, and they are each configured to be rotated with respect to the washer carriage (). A first end of a spray bar () fluidly communicates with a first flexible hose () supported by a reel () on the first spindle ().
