The invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle with an active parking assistant, comprising: determining a parking maneuver data set with at least one parking movement for a parking maneuver for parking in a parking space; determining a quality value representative of the parking situation of the motor vehicle in the parking space after the parking movement; comparing the quality value with a predetermined threshold value; providing the parking maneuver data set if the quality value is less than the threshold value; determining a further parking movement of the parking maneuver data set; determining a further quality value representative of the parking situation of the motor vehicle in the parking space after the further parking movement; and comparing the quality value with a predetermined threshold value if the quality value is greater than the threshold value.

Method for operating a motor vehicle with an active parking assistant

A method for controlling vehicle operation of a vehicle having a standard transmission, a clutch, a service brake activated by a brake pedal, and an engine controller configured to shut off the engine after a stationary state of the vehicle has been reached. The method including shutting off the engine in a stopping step if an idling position of the manually shifted transmission has been engaged and if the clutch has been engaged and restarting engine in a chronologically subsequent starting step upon activation of a pedal, including a clutch pedal. The service brake configured to apply a brake pressure directly after release of the brake pedal for predetermined time period or interval between the stopping step and the starting step.

Method for operating a vehicle having a manual transmission

A transportation vehicle has an autohold selector, such as a push button switch or other human-machine interface (HMI). A gear selector in the vehicle includes forward and reverse gear positions. A brake pedal can be depressed by a driver to actuate a brake actuator when slowing or stopping the vehicle. A control circuit is configured to initiate a brake hold event of the brake actuator in response to predetermined conditions including the autohold selector being on and the vehicle braking to a stop with the brake pedal depressed, wherein initiating the brake hold event is prevented if the gear selector is in the reverse position. If a brake hold event is in progress, then shifting the gear selector to reverse terminates the brake hold event. Low speed maneuvers, such as parking the vehicle, can be performed without a need for manually canceling the autohold feature.

A deceleration warning device for reducing rear-end collisions in road traffic includes a sensor for detecting a longitudinal acceleration value, a control device receiving the longitudinal acceleration value, determining an acceleration limit value, and generating a warning signal if the longitudinal acceleration value exceeds the acceleration limit value, and a rear lighting display for displaying an alarm state when the control device emits a warning signal. Determination of the acceleration limit value is based upon a plurality of signals including an anti-lock braking system (ABS) signal and a brake pedal position signal. The control device is operable in one of three levels depending upon a detected quality of the signals.

Deceleration warning device and method for a motor vehicle

The invention relates to a method for compensating steering-torque disturbances caused by unequal torque distribution at the front wheels of a motor vehicle with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and an active differential. In this arrangement, the magnitude of the steering-torque disturbance is determined from the torque distribution, the total torque and the steering lever and a compensation torque is exerted on the steering system by means of an active steering-servo device.
