The present invention relates to an acoustical assembly extending in the x, y, and z directions, the acoustical assembly comprising first and second receiver units being spatially shifted relative to each other in the x direction thereby creating regions with free and available space, and one or more microphone units being positioned in the regions with free and available space. The present invention further relates to a hearing device comprising such an acoustical assembly.

Multiple receiver assembly and a method for assembly thereof

An acoustical module including a receiver unit for generating audio sound, microphone units for receiving acoustical pressure signals, and acoustical pressure pick-up points. Each of the acoustical pressure pick-up points is acoustically connected to a microphone unit. The module further includes an acoustical filter for attenuating acoustical pressure signals from a first acoustical pressure pick-up point relative to a second acoustical pressure pick-up point. The invention further relates to a hearing device comprising an acoustical module.

A microphone comprises a housing defining an inner volume and including a first exterior surface with an aperture leading to the inner volume. The microphone includes a transducing assembly within the housing for converting sound into an electrical signal. A sound inlet plate defines, typically in combination with the first exterior surface, a passageway for transmitting sound to the aperture The passageway receives the sound from an opening in the sound inlet plate. The opening is offset from the location at which the aperture is positioned on the exterior surface. The sound inlet plate is made very thin so that it does not extend substantially away from the housing.

A microphone and method for dampening the frequency response of the microphone by disposing a dampening frame in a rear volume of the microphone. The microphone generally includes a housing, a diaphragm, a damping frame, and a backplate. The diaphragm rests on embossments in the housing, and a damping frame including a damping slit cut into an inner edge of the damping frame is positioned against the diaphragm. The backplate is positioned adjacent the damping frame to define an aperture which allows air to escape from the area between the backplate and the diaphragm into the rear volume of the microphone, thus dampening the frequency response of the microphone. The method includes the steps of aligning a sheet of diaphragms with a sheet of damping frames, curing these two sheets to form a carrier sheet having a plurality of subassemblies, singulating each subassembly, installing a backplate onto each subassembly to form a cartridge, and placing the cartridge into a microphone housing.
