Spring energized seal assemblies each with one or two sealing elements and a canted coil spring located in a spring cavity of the sealing element or of the two sealing elements to bias an inner flange and an outer flange of the respective spring cavity away from one another. The canted coil springs can have un-conventional coil shapes with one or more straight coil segments and/or with curved connecting ends. The coils can have dimples to provide multiple biasing points. The coils can have loops. The canted coil springs with un-conventional coil shapes can be used to improve spring loading on a sealing element.

Seal assemblies and related methods

Supported face seal assemblies and related methods are disclosed. The supported face seal assemblies have spring energized seal element supported by a backing ring. When the two components are joined, they form an interlocking face seal assembly that is less prone to separate during installation and/or service. The methods disclosed include the steps of forming a spring energized sealing element with a convex outer surface, forming a backup or support ring with a concave inner surface, assembling the sealing element into the inner bore of the backup or support ring such that the concave inner surface accepts a portion of the convex outer surface and the sealing element is retained within the backup or support ring.

Interlocking face seal assemblies and related methods

Seal assemblies and methods for forming them are described. Aspects of the seal assemblies include a seal ring made of a relative soft material supported by a specially configured backing ring made of a much higher modulus material, such as ferrous and non-ferrous metal or engineered plastic. The seal assemblies may optionally include a retaining ring to prevent slippage relative to the environment or housing in which they are placed and to prevent shuttling. The seal assemblies may also optionally include an energizer to alter the force generating by a sealing lip on the seal ring. The seal assemblies preferably include a rigid hoop ring to minimize shrinkage due to thermal cycling.

Interlocking composite seals

Seal assemblies in which a seal member having an energizer located in a seal body groove is positioned inside a housing cavity of a housing are disclosed. The sealing member and the energizer, which can be an O-ring or a spring energizer, can be retained inside the housing cavity by positioning a portion of the energizer in a groove in the housing cavity in a locking or latching engagement. Methods of making and using seal assemblies are also disclosed.

Spring assemblies with spring energized seal members and related methods

A connector system comprising a status monitoring cable system comprising a first cable connector adapted to be connected to a generator connector, a second cable connector adapted to be connected to a UPS connector, a third cable connector adapted to be connected to the modem connector, a jumper, first and second power conductors connected between the first cable connector and the second cable connector, and a sensor module comprising a current detect module and a connector detect module. The current detect module transmits a GEN_ON signal to the modem when a current is present in at least one of the first and second power conductors. The connector detect module transmits a GEN_PRESENT signal to the modem when a current flows through the first cable connector, the generator connector, the jumper, the generator connector, and the first cable connector.

Status monitoring cables for generators

Seal assemblies for sealing around a moveable shaft, such as rotary or reciprocating, or static, are described. The seal assemblies prevent the passage of lubricant or fluid from a relatively high pressure area on a first side of the seal to a relatively low pressure area on a second side of the seal. In some embodiments, these seals are energized by energizers, such as circular springs or canted springs, to keep the seal in contact with the moveable shaft. The seals have primary and secondary seals. The secondary seal provides initial moderate sealing against abrasive particles or contaminants to reduce the exposure and wear of the primary seal.

Seal assemblies and methods for forming them are described. Seal assembly for high pressure dynamic and static services

A vibratory vectored thrust shaker for separating solid materials from fluids has a base frame and a screen bed support frame carrying a mesh screen supported horizontally above the base frame by resilient supports. An eccentrically weighted vibratory shaft is rotatably mounted transversely between a pair of side rails secured at one end to the screen bed support frame near its discharge end which extend upward therefrom at an acute angle to horizontal. A first resilient round member is mounted at one end of the vibratory shaft. A drive motor mounted on a spring biased hinged mounting bracket connected to the base frame has a second resilient round member mounted on its drive shaft which is engaged in spring biased relation with the first round member. As the weighted portion of the vibratory shaft rotates to the point of tangency of the round members, centrifugal force is exerted angularly downward to compress them together and compress the hinged mounting bracket such that the angular downward force is substantially absorbed and relatively little movement is imparted to the screen bed. As the weighted portion of the vibratory shaft rotates to a point opposite the point of tangency of the round members, centrifugal force is exerted angularly upward allowing the round members and compression spring to expand creating a relatively large resultant angular upward force acting on the screen bed and materials to be separated are thrust in an angular direction toward the discharge end.

Vectored thrust shale shaker

An apparatus and method for cleaning, desanding, and desilting drilling mud which contains unwanted solids utilizes an enclosure divided into a plurality of compartments connected with a system of vibratory screen shaker separators, desanders, and desilters. Drilling mud is separated by a primary vibratory shaker into coarse solids which is discarded and screened liquid mud which enters a first compartment and is further separated by a desander cyclone into a lighter liquid mud faction and a heavier liquid mud faction. The lighter faction is sent back to the first compartment and recycles, the heavier faction is further separated by a second vibratory shaker and enters a second compartment, and the solids are discarded. The liquid mud from the second compartment is further separated by manifolded desilter cyclones into a heavier faction and a lighter faction. The lighter faction is sent back to the second compartment and recycles, the heavier faction is further separated by a third vibratory shaker and enters a third compartment, and the solids are discarded. The liquid mud from the third compartment is further separated by a high-speed desilter cyclone into a heavier faction and a lighter faction. The lighter faction is sent back to the third compartment and recycles, the heavier faction is further separated by a fourth vibratory screen shaker into desilted dry solids and desilted liquid mud. The four times screened, desanded and twice desilted liquid mud is then used in the active mud system.
