An acoustic door assembly having 1¾″ thickness, a sound transmission class (STC) rating greater than 50, UL10C 20-minute fire rating, and constructed without sheet metal or lead. In an embodiment, the door assembly includes a frame housing a decoupled internal core sandwiched between two mass-loaded vinyl outer faces. The internal core includes a multi-layering of low-density layers for absorbing high-frequency noise, damping layers of mass-loaded vinyl for absorbing low-frequency noise, and a flame-retardant layer. The outer faces are a multi-layered assembly coupled to a frame of the door assembly and in contact communication to the internal core, the outer faces having layers of mass-loaded vinyl, plywood, high-density fiberboard, and a veneer.

A mine safety dust exhibiting improved dispersion in water. The rock dust includes dolomitic limestone particles which, when mixed at the mine site to form a slurry, stay in suspension during intermittent operation of spray machinery and with a reduced need for continuous mixing. The rock dust composition includes an inorganic salt that acts as a dispersant to improve dispersion of the rock dust in water and further acts as a deflocculant to keep the dust particles in suspension in the resultant slurry.

A method of exercising a generator includes detecting a temperature of the generator by a temperature sensor, if the temperature of the generator is above a predetermined temperature, activating, by a controller, a starter motor of the generator, and performing, by the controller, an exercise test, and if the temperature of the generator is below the predetermined temperature, not activating, by the controller, the starter motor.

A wall construction system including plurality of interlocking concrete blocks. The interlocking blocks include one or more stretcher blocks, corner blocks, and half blocks. The blocks include top and end shear lugs and bottom and end grooves. The bottom grooves accommodate the top shear lugs of blocks in a lower course of stacked blocks. Corner blocks provide a means for creating a corner and turning the direction of a course of blocks by 90 degrees. The interlocking features of the blocks enable dry-stacking in successive courses to construct a wall or multi-wall structure. When stacked end to end in successive rows, the top and end shear lugs of each interlocking block engage complimentary grooves in the underlying, overlying, and adjacent blocks thereby enabling the blocks to rapidly self-align vertically and lock together as they are stacked. The resulting dry-stacked structure exhibits a high lateral resistance to overpressures or transverse loads.

A tube guard system is provided for use in a flourescent light fixture and comprises at least one lamp assembly. The lamp assembly further comprises a lamp having two ends and having at least one terminal at each end, a sleeve having two ends and surrounding the lamp, and an end cap having a concentric opening formed thereupon affixed to each end of the sleeve whereby the terminals protrude through the openings in the end caps. A pair of lampholders affixed to the fixture receive each lamp used in the fixture whereby the terminals are placed in contacting relation with the lampholders. A preferred lampholder has a lamp center line of at least &frac58;&Prime;, thereby allowing the use of low-profile lampholders having a lamp center line of &frac58;&Prime;, or standard lampholders having a lamp center line of &frac78;&Prime;. Preferred sleeves and end caps are of polycarbonate materials in order to provide heat and ultra violet resistance. Lampholders are mounted to lampholder saddles, as desired, which are in turn mounted to the light fixture.

A system for remote mirroring of digital data from a primary network server to a remote network server includes a primary data transfer unit and a remote data transfer unit which are connectable with one another by a conventional communication link. The primary data transfer unit sends mirrored data from the primary network server over the link to the remote data transfer unit which is located a safe distance away. Each data transfer unit includes a server interface and a link interface. The server interface is viewed by the network operating system as another disk drive controller. The link interface includes four interconnected parallel processors which perform read and write processes in parallel. The link interface also includes a channel service unit which may be tailored to commercial communications links such as T1, E1, or analog telephone lines connected by modems.
