Systems and methods are provided for detecting the departure of a vehicle from a set of land boundaries. A boundary determination component is configured to determine an associated set of lane boundaries for a vehicle. A kinematic sensor is configured to measure at least one kinematic parameter associated with the vehicle. A lane departure warning system is configured to determine if the vehicle is crossing one of the determined set of lane boundaries from the at least one kinematic parameter and provide a response signal if the vehicle is crossing one of the determined set of lane boundaries.

Augmented lane detection using kinematic data

Method and apparatus for bonding an electrical circuit component onto a substrate. A first electrically conductive bonding pad is formed on the component, and a second electrically conductive bonding pad is formed on the substrate. One of said first and second bonding pads is physically split into at least two parts, with electrical discontinuity between the two parts. An electrically conductive bond is formed between the first and second bonding pads such that electrical continuity is established from one part of the one bonding pad, through the other of the bonding pads, and through the second part of the one bonding pad. The integrity of the electrically conductive bond is evaluated by testing electrical continuity between the at least two parts.

Method and apparatus for attachment of integrated circuits

A measurement device () mounting arrangement includes a support member () and a sensing device () in a circuit housing (). The circuit housing () is electrically and mechanically connected to the support member () through a mounting structure (). The circuit housing () has a resonance frequency and the sensing device () has an operational resonance frequency. The sensing device () measures a physical parameter and provides a signal indicative thereof. An under-fill material () is located between the support member () and the circuit housing () for shifting the resonance frequency of the circuit housing () away from the operational resonance frequency of the sensing device ().

Measuring device mounting method and structure

A method for calibration of motion sensors included in a vehicle electronic brake control system includes measuring sensor offset errors at different points in the assembly of the system and the vehicle and then combining the offset errors to obtain net offset errors for use with an electronic brake system.

Method for correction of inertial sensor mounting offsets

The reliability of a pressure sensor is improved either by utilization of redundant components. A pair of pressure sensors are mounted upon a single pressure sensor diaphragm. Each of the pressure sensors is connected to one of a pair of signal conditioning circuits. The gain of one of the signal conditioning circuits is a fraction of the gain of the other signal conditioning circuit. The outputs of each of the signal conditioning circuits are compared to a corresponding threshold. If both of the output signals exceed the corresponding threshold, it is determined that a malfunction of the pressure sensor has occured.

High reliability pressure sensor

The reliability of a pressure sensor is improved either by utilization of redundant components. A pair of pressure sensors are mounted upon a single pressure sensor diaphragm. The pressure signals generated by the pressure sensors are compared and, if the difference between the signals exceeds a predetermined threshold, it is determined that a malfunction of the pressure sensor has occurred. Alternately, additional diagnostic testing may be included to detect a malfunctioning sensor.
