A liner string for a wellbore includes a liner hanger assembly (LHA) and a liner hanger deployment assembly (LHDA) releasably attached to the LHA. The LHDA includes a central bore and a running tool moveable from a locked position to an unlocked position, the running tool including a flow path in communication with the central bore. The liner string further includes a chamber disposed between the LHDA and LHA, wherein the chamber is in selective fluid communication with the flow path. Wherein, when the flow path is closed, the chamber is isolated from the central bore, and when the flow path is open, the flow path provides fluid communication between central bore and chamber.

Running tool for a liner string

An assembly for hanging a tubular string includes a packoff () having a fastener and a seal for engaging an inner surface of the tubular string and a setting tool. The setting tool includes: a debris cap () for engaging an upper end of the tubular string, thereby forming a buffer chamber between the debris cap () and the packoff (); a mandrel () having a port formed through a wall thereof; a piston (): disposed along the mandrel, having an upper face in fluid communication with the port, and operable to stroke the debris cap relative to the mandrel, thereby setting a hanger of the tubular string; an actuator sleeve () extending along the mandrel and connected to the piston; a packer actuator () including a housing connected to the debris cap above the buffer chamber and a fastener for engaging a profile of the actuator sleeve; and a latch releasably connecting the housing to the mandrel.

Liner deployment assembly having full time debris barrier

A deployment assembly for expanding a liner string in a wellbore includes: a tubular mandrel having a bore therethrough; an expander linked to the mandrel and operable between an extended position and a retracted position; an extension tool disposed along the mandrel and operable to extend the expander; and a retraction tool disposed along the mandrel. The retraction tool has: an upper piston in fluid communication with the mandrel bore and operable to retract the expander; a lower piston in fluid communication with the mandrel bore and operable to balance the upper piston; a valve disposed between the pistons for isolating the lower piston from the upper piston in a closed position; and an electronics package linked to the valve for opening and closing the valve in response to receiving a command signal.

Telemetry operated expandable liner system

A downhole device shifts a component from a first state to a second state. The device includes a body having the component in a bore thereof and an annular space formed within an inner and outer wall of the body. The annular space includes a first fluid chamber in fluid communication with the bore at a first location and with a pressure transducer at a second location, the transducer constructed and arranged to measure pressure of the fluid and provide a signal to circuitry controlling a valve upon reception of a predetermined fluid pressure pulse sequence. When the pulse sequence is delivered, the valve opens, placing a source of pressurized fluid in communication with an actuator that shifts the valve.

Ball seat for use in a wellbore

The present invention generally relates to a swage assembly that is movable from a compliant configuration having a first shape to a substantially non-compliant configuration having a second shape. In one aspect, an expansion swage for expanding a wellbore tubular is provided. The expansion swage includes a body and a solid cone disposed on the body. The expansion swage further includes a deformable cone disposed on the body, wherein the solid cone is made from a first material and the deformable cone is made from a second material and wherein the deformable cone is movable relative to the body when the expansion swage is in a compliant configuration. In another aspect, a method of expanding a wellbore tubular is provided.

Compliant expansion swage

The present invention generally relates to an expandable liner hanger capable of being expanded into a surrounding casing. In one aspect, an expandable tubular system is provided. The system includes an expandable tubular. The system further includes an expansion swage for expanding the expandable tubular, wherein the expansion swage is deformable from a compliant configuration to a smaller substantially non-compliant configuration. Additionally, the system includes a restriction member disposed on an exterior surface of the expandable tubular, wherein expansion of the expandable tubular in the location of the restriction member deforms the expansion swage from the compliant configuration to the smaller substantially non-compliant configuration. In another aspect, a method of expanding a liner hanger using a cone is provided.

Expandable liner hanger and method of use

An expandable tubular assembly includes an expander for expanding a tubular. The expander may be hydraulically actuated. A bore obstruction object may be received in a receptacle sleeve that is a modular component of the expandable tubular assembly. In this respect, the expandable tubular assembly may be quickly fitted with a receptacle sleeve designed to receive selected type of bore obstruction object.

Apparatus and method for completing a wellbore

An apparatus for carrying and releasing a liner downhole includes a tubular body; a latching member attached to the tubular body for coupling with the liner; and a release sleeve disposed between the tubular body and the latching member, wherein the release sleeve is axially movable relative to the tubular body to allow the latching member to disengage from the liner.

Apparatus and methods of running an expandable liner

Methods and apparatus enable expanding tubing in a borehole of a hydrocarbon well. According to some embodiments, an expander device includes a collapsible swage formed of collets, at least one slip arrangement and a hydraulic jack to stroke the swage through tubing to be expanded. In operation, expanding tubing may include securing an expansion tool to the tubing, lowering the tool and tubing into a borehole, actuating a collapsible expander of the expansion tool to an extended configuration, and supplying fluid pressure to a jack coupled to the expander thereby moving the expander through the tubing which is held by at least one of first and second tubing holding devices disposed respectively ahead of the expander and behind the expander.

System and methods for tubular expansion

Methods and apparatus for utilizing a downhole deployment valve (DDV) to isolate a pressure in a portion of a bore are disclosed. The DDV system can include fail safe features such as selectively extendable attenuation members for decreasing a falling object's impact, a normally open back-up valve member for actuation upon failure of a primary valve member, or a locking member to lock a valve member closed and enable disposal of a shock attenuating material on the valve member. Actuation of the DDV system can be electrically operated and can be self contained to operate automatically downhole without requiring control lines to the surface. Additionally, the actuation of the DDV can be based on a pressure supplied to an annulus.
