A method and apparatus are provided for determining a chain of individual functions associated with a service. The functions are designed to be interconnected in order to supply the service to a client entity in a communications network. The method includes the following steps implemented by a determination device: receiving from an access node to the service a temporary chain of individual functions associated with the service requested by the client entity together with a context associated with the client entity; determining an action to be performed on the temporary chain of individual functions associated with the service as a function of the context associated with the client entity; implementing the determined action on the temporary chain in order to obtain a final chain of individual functions; and sending the final chain to the service access node. This method can be implemented for supplying the service to the client entity.

Technique for determining a chain of individual functions associated with a service

A method of monitoring the end-to-end quality of a service in a telecommunications network includes: a step (F) of negotiating with the provider of the service a contract including at least one quality parameter of said service; a step (F) of determining functions that must be provided by the network to comply with said contract; a step (F) of receiving a request from a terminal to access said service; a step (F) of selecting, on reception of the request, at least one equipment of the network able to provide said functions; and a step (F) of setting up a path in the network between the terminal and the service provider via said at least one equipment.

Method and device for monitoring service quality in a network

A technique of controlling access by a client entity to a service in a communications network. Processing modules are interconnected in the network in order to supply the service to the client entity. A processing module implements an individual function of a chain of individual functions associated with the service. The access method includes the following steps implemented by an access control device associated with an access node giving access to the service, the device being referred to as a main device: receiving a chain of processing modules from the access node; sending, to a secondary access control device associated with a processing module of the chain, a request to access the processing module under consideration, the request including an access token negotiated between the main device and the client entity; receiving a response to the access request from the secondary device; and notifying the access node of the response.

Technique for controlling access by a client entity to a service

Obtaining information relating to a local environment of a terminal of a local network and to providing the terminal, via an application server, with at least one service adapted both as a function of the information relating to an access session of the terminal and the information relating to a local environment of the terminal. The local environment information of the terminal is obtained from an autoconfiguration server via a session server and it is provided to the application server.
