Interaction based charging control is described. In an embodiment, a device is described, comprising: an interface configured to receive a charging power from another device; a sensor configured to detect interaction of the device; a charging controller configured to reduce the charging power in response to the detected interaction; in response to the reduced charging power, a processor configured to allow more processing power for the device. In other embodiments, a device comprising a sensor configured to detect a temperature of the device, and a method are discussed.

Interaction based charging control

A device includes a rechargeable battery and a charging line, connected to a terminal of the rechargeable battery, charging the rechargeable battery. The charging line includes two switching elements electrically opening or closing the charging line, and a sense line, connected to a terminal of the rechargeable battery, sensing a battery voltage. The sense line includes two switching elements electrically opening or closing the sense line.

In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus including monitoring unit and a charging control unit. The monitoring unit is configured to monitor at least one data acquisition source of a device operated by a rechargeable battery and to estimate a context of the device based on data acquired from the at least one data acquisition source. The charging control unit is configured to dynamically adjust charging voltage and charging current applied to the rechargeable battery based on the estimated context of the device acquired from the monitoring unit. The battery includes at least one battery cell.
