Process and apparatus for wetlaying nonwovens

A process for producing nonwoven materials is provided. The process includes: providing a three-phase (gas-liquid-solid) suspension, providing a first moving carrier sieve, applying the three-phase suspension onto the first moving carrier sieve to produce a fibrous web, removing aqueous residue of the three-phase suspension through the first carrier sieve, recycling the aqueous residue, pre-integrating the fibrous web by flushing the web with water and collecting flushed water, transferring the pre-integrated fibrous web from the first moving carrier sieve to a second moving carrier sieve, and hydroentangling the fibrous web. The three-phase suspension contains natural and/or manmade fibres, a surfactant, and air.

Process for producing nonwoven

A process and an apparatus for producing nonwoven materials are disclosed. The process comprises the following steps: a) providing a three-phase (gas-liquid-solid) suspension containing air, water, fibrous material and a surfactant, b) depositing the suspension onto a moving carrier sieve to produce a fibrous web on the carrier, c) removing aqueous residue of the suspension through the carrier sieve, d) conveying the aqueous residue through one or more phase separation tanks in an essentially horizontal direction while providing a depressurised headspace above the aqueous residue, e) recycling the aqueous residue conveyed in step d) to step a), f) preferably pre-integrating the fibrous web.

A hydroentangled nonwoven sheet material produced by a process including: 0) optionally providing a polymer web on a carrier; a) providing an aqueous suspension containing short fibers and a surfactant; b) depositing the aqueous suspension on the carrier; c) removing aqueous residue of the aqueous suspension deposited in step b) to form a fibrous web; b') depositing aqueous suspension on a surface of the fibrous web formed in step c); c&#x2032;) removing aqueous residue of the aqueous suspension deposited in step b&#x2032;) to form a combined fibrous web; d) hydroentangling the combined fibrous web; and optionally e) drying the hydroentangled web, and/or f) further processing and finalizing the dried, hydroentangled web the web to produce the nonwoven end material. The hydroentangled non-woven sheet material obtainable by this process has a low degree of surface irregularity and contains low residues of surfactants.

Process for producing nonwoven with improved surface properties

A hydroentangled integrated composite nonwoven material, includes a mixture of randomized continuous filaments, splittable shortcut staple fibers, and optionally non-splittable staple fibers. The splittable fibers should be 3-16 mm long bicomponent fibers. Preferably there should be no thermal bonding points between the filaments. The nonwoven material has improved textile feeling and reduced two-sidedness. The continuous filaments should preferably be spunlaid filaments. Some of the staple fibers can be colored. A process of producing such a nonwoven material is disclosed.

The present invention also relates to a method for producing a nonwoven material (), wherein hydroentangling of a substrate web (), which comprises natural fibers having a length of less than 10 mm, takes place on a surface-shaped carrier device () containing holes which form at least a first and a second pattern in the form of first and second holes respectively, wherein the second holes are at least 4 times larger than the first holes.

Nonwoven material and a method for producing nonwoven material

A method of producing a nonwoven material by hydroentangling a fiber mixture containing spunlaid filaments, natural fibers and synthetic staple fibers, wherein a fibrous web of natural fibers and at least 10% by fiber weight of manmade staple fibers is wetlaid by means of an inclined wire formation, the wetlaid fibrous web is hydroentangled in a first hydroentangling station and spunlaid filaments are laid on top of said hydroentangled wetlaid fibrous web to form a combined web. The combined web is hydroentangled in a second hydroentangling station.

Method of producing a hydroentangled nonwoven material

A sheet of wiping material has a first outer surface and a second outer surface and a core region between the surfaces. The wiping material includes absorbent fibers and non-absorbent fibers. The wiping material has a stratified structure with a fiber gradient and a higher ratio of absorbent fibers to non-absorbent fibers at the outer surfaces of the wiping material than in the core region. Nonwoven material and absorbing article comprising nonwoven material

A flushable moist wipe or hygiene tissue including a hydraulically entangled nonwoven material impregnated with a wetting composition. The nonwoven material contains at least 70%, by fiber weight, pulp fibers and the rest manmade fibers and/or natural fibers with a length of at least 6 mm. The moist wipe or hygiene tissue has a length in the machine direction which exceeds the width in the cross-machine direction with at least 25%. The moist wipe or hygiene tissue has a wet strength in machine direction which is at least 3 times higher than the wet strength in cross-machine direction, wherein the wet strength in cross-machine direction is between 50 and 200 N/m.

Flushable moist wipe or hygiene tissue

A web, such as a tissue or nonwoven web. Perforation lines in the web define sheets. The web is folded before being rolled or stacked, such that the intersection of the perforation lines and the folding line provides reliable dispensing. The web in roll or stack form, a method for forming the web, and a dispenser adapted for dispensing the web are also described.

Folded perforated web

A hydroentangled nonwoven material (), includes a mixture of randomized continuous filaments () and natural fibers (), wherein at least part of the staple fibers and/or the continuous filaments includes thermoplastic material. The nonwoven material is bonded in a non-random bonding pattern including a plurality of bonding sites () in which thermoplastic material included in the nonwoven material has been caused to at least partly soften or melt to create thermal bonds between the continuous filaments. The nonwoven material includes no other thermal bonds between the filaments than provided by the non-random bonding pattern. The nonwoven material may also contain synthetic staple fibers ().

Hydroentangled nonwoven material

An hydroentangled integrated composite nonwoven material, includes a mixture of randomized continuous filaments, and synthetic staple fibers, where there are no thermal bonding points between the continuous filaments. The nonwoven material exhibits a cumulative pore volume, measured by PVD in n-hexadecane, in the pore radius range 5-150 &#x3bc;m, where at least 70% of the cumulative pore volume is in the pores with a pore radius above 45 &#x3bc;m. The nonwoven material also exhibits a cumulative pore volume, which when the synthetic staple fibers are chosen from the group of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, polyamide, and polylactide staple fibers is at least 9 mm/mg, and when the synthetic staple fibers are lyocell staple fibers is at least 6 mm/mg.

Hydroentangled integrated composite nonwoven material

An improved hydroentangled well integrated composite nonwoven material, including a mixture of continuous filaments, synthetic staple fibers, and natural fibers which has a reduced twosidedness and an improved textile feeling. The synthetic staple fibers should have a length of 3 to 7 mm, and preferably there should be no thermal bondings between the filaments. The method of producing such a nonwoven material is also disclosed. The nonwoven includes a mixture of 10-50 w-% continuous filaments preferably chosen from polypropylene, polyesters and polylactides, 5-50 w-% synthetic staple fibers chosen from polyethylene, polypropylene, polyesters, polyamides, polylactides, rayon, and lyocell, and 20-85 w-% natural fibers, preferably pulp.
