A method and component for determining a spectrum for wireless in-cabin communication between a user equipment and a network node which are within an aircraft. The method comprises obtaining flight information indicating a position of the aircraft; determining one or more available spectrums based on a regulation on an allowed spectrum corresponding to the flight information at the position; and sending, to at least one of the user equipment and the network node, an instruction to use the one or more available spectrums for the wireless in-cabin communication.

Disclosed are methods for performing radio measurements in a wireless device and methods in a network node for managing radio measurements performed by a wireless. Also disclosed are a network node and a wireless device suitable for performing the disclosed methods. A wireless device obtains an indication of a first cell carrier frequency associated with a first altitude range and an indication of a second cell carrier frequency associated with a second altitude range, determines an altitude of the wireless device and performs a radio measurement on a signal received from a cell operating on the first cell carrier frequency only when the altitude of the wireless device is within the first altitude range and performing a radio measurement on a signal received from a cell operating on the second cell carrier frequency only when the altitude of the wireless device is within the second altitude range.

Method and apparatus for cell measurement in a communications system

Systems and methods for determining configurable timing relationships and operational parameters are provided. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a wireless device in a wireless system includes determining round-trip propagation delay information between the wireless device and a network node. This round-trip propagation delay information may be a round-trip propagation delay a quantized round-trip propagation delay, or any other value indicative of the round-trip propagation delay. The in method also includes determining a Hybrid Automatic Retransmission Request (HARQ) operational parameter based on the round-trip propagation delay information between the wireless device and the network node. In this way, HARQ is extended to work for deployments with large round-trip propagation delays, such as satellite systems. This may increase the throughput and reliability of data transmission.

Configurable timing relationship and HARQ operational parameters

There is provided a method and corresponding arrangement and units for radar detection in a wireless communication system operating in a spectrum shared with at least one radar system. The method basically comprises the steps of collecting (S) measurement information related to radar sensing measurements by aggregating radar sensing measurements from multiple, geographically distributed radar sensing units forming a radar sensing network implemented in the wireless communication system, and processing (S) the measurement information according to at least one radar sensing rule to generate a radar detection result. Radar detection and/or protection in a wireless communication system operating in a spectrum shared with at least one radar system

A flight transceiver station (FTS) mounted onboard an aircraft communicates with one or more terrestrial transceiver points by determining, for a future moment in time, a position of the flight transceiver station in 3-dimensional space; an attitude of the flight transceiver station; one or more respective directions from the position of the flight transceiver station to the one or more terrestrial transceiver points; respective radial velocities between the flight transceiver station and the one or more terrestrial transceiver points. The FTS also determines, based on the respective directions and attitudes, beamforming weights for one or more transmit beams towards each of the one or more terrestrial transceiver points; and predicts, based on the respective radial velocities, respective Doppler shifts of a carrier frequency used between the flight transceiver station and the one or more terrestrial transceiver points. The beamforming weights for the one or more transmit beams, and a Doppler pre-compensation based on the predicted Doppler shifts are applied to transmitter equipment of the flight transceiver station, at the future moment in time.

Wireless communication links between airborne and ground-based communications equipment

Network node and method for managing radio resources dedicated to beacon signaling for D2D discovery

A controller controls a communications link between a first node and a second node, by requesting one or more candidate devices to detect signals transmitted by the first and second nodes. It receives signal quality measurements from at least one candidate device, relating to signals received by each respective candidate device from the first and second nodes and, in response to the received signal quality measurements, determines whether to select a candidate device to act as a relay between the first and second nodes. If this determination is made, it requests the selected candidate device to act as a relay between the first and second nodes. A candidate device receives the request from the controller and determines a signal quality measurement of signals received from the first and second nodes. It reports the signal quality measurements of signals received from the first and second nodes to the controller device.
