A method and an apparatus for controlling driving power from a powertrain of a motor vehicle comprising a kickdown switch, wherein an activation of the kickdown switch triggers a default action of temporarily requesting an increase of a maximum power available from the powertrain, the method comprising: recognizing that a speed limiter, setting an upper speed limit for the vehicle speed, is active, comparing a current vehicle speed to a predefined speed threshold, which is below the upper speed limit, and if the current vehicle speed is above the speed threshold and the speed limiter is active, triggering an altered action in response to the activation of the kickdown switch.

Method and an apparatus for controlling driving power in a motor vehicle

A method for control of an automatically controlled clutch when setting a vehicle in motion on a running surface: the vehicle includes a combustion engine for generating driving force transmitted to at least one powered wheel, and a throttle control for demanding driving force from the engine. The magnitude of the driving force demanded from the engine is controlled by a driver of the vehicle by means of the throttle control. The method includes a step, when a first criterion representing the grip of the powered wheels on the running surface is fulfilled, of opening the automatically controlled clutch if the driver uses the throttle control to reduce the demand for driving force from the engine.

A system for control of a gearbox: At least one control unit controls the gearbox in a motor vehicle which comprises an engine connected to drive the gearbox. The system responds to receiving an indication by choosing for the gearbox a gear among various possible gears which causes the engine to reach a desired speed &#x3c9;in a shorter time than with any other gear from among the various possible gears. Also, a method, a motor vehicle, a computer program and a computer program product thereof for performing the method are disclosed.

System for control of a gearbox

A method for prevention of unwanted double gear changes for a gearbox in a motor vehicle. The vehicle comprises an engine connected to drive the gearbox. The gearbox also effects a manual gear change in an automatic mode if a mode selector connected to the gearbox is activated. The manual gear change is barred if the mode selector is only activated a first time during a gear change period, which represents a period of time during which an automatic gear change is effected in the automatic mode. A system, a computer program, a computer program product and a motor vehicle, which prevent an unwanted double gear change, are disclosed.

A method, a system, a computer program and a computer program product for determining one or more shift points for a gearbox in a motor vehicle which comprises an engine connected to, in order to drive the gearbox. A shift point is defined by an engine speed at which the gearbox effects a downshift or upshift. The method uses one or more shift points determined on the basis of a change in road gradient.

Determination of one or more gearshift points

A system for control of a gearbox, having at least one control unit controlling the gearbox where the gearbox is installed in a motor vehicle having an engine connected to drive the gearbox. The system effects a first upshift from a first gear to a second gear if the acceleration a for the vehicle is greater than nil for the second gear and the current engine speed is within a first engine speed range; and effects a second upshift from the first gear to a third gear if the current engine speed is within a second engine speed range. The first speed range is lower than the second speed range of the engine. A method, a motor vehicle, a computer program and a computer program product for the method are disclosed.

In a planetary gear (1) with an axially displaceable ring wheel (24), which can be coupled together with coupling rings (10,19) on either side of the planetary gear (1), synchronization rings (16,23) are arranged with external locking teeth. The ring wheel (24) is designed at its axial ends with a number of recesses (30), each accommodating locking bodies (31) which are spring-loaded in the radial direction and which bear against the synchronization rings (16,23) and which, during gear change movements, come to bear against shoulders (38) on the synchronization rings (16,23) in order to transmit axial force action to the synchronization ring (16,23) in question.
