A method relating to handover in a communication system is disclosed. The method comprises establishing that a communication device is involved in a handover process from a first cell to a second cell, and increasing at least one of diversity and transmission power of a scheduling assignment transmitted on physical downlink control channel resources, wherein the physical downlink control channel resources are multiplexed with data resources in one or more orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, OFDM, symbols and wherein the scheduling assignment is specific for the communication device. A corresponding communication system, computer programs and computer program products are also disclosed.

Method and system relating to handover

A network node is operable in a wireless communication network, and a wireless device () being associated with a serving beam (#) managed by a radio network node associated with the network node. The method comprises obtaining () a position of the wireless device, wherein the position of the wireless device is associated with an expected beam. When the serving beam and the expected beam are different from each other thereby resulting in a deviation, the method comprises determining () whether the deviation has occurred at least more than once. When the deviation has occurred at least more than once, the method comprises issuing () a notification indicating that the expected beam is at least partially obscured with respect to transmissions for the wireless device.

Obscuration of the expected beam in a wireless communication

Embodiments herein relate to a method, performed by a network node, for handling of specific power reduction for a User Equipment (UE). The network node receives a message from the UE comprising an identification of a specific type of the UE. The network node obtains a reduced power applied by the UE corresponding to the received identification. The network node selects an allocation for transmissions from the UE, based on the reduced power applied by the UE. Embodiments herein further relate to a network node for performing the method for handling of specific power reduction for a UE.

Network node and method for UE specific power handling

A method includes a base station in a distributed antenna system having a set of antennas. For each antenna, the base station stores state information indicating that the antenna is either in a transmit state or a do_not_transmit state. For each antenna indicated by the state information for the antenna as being in the transmit state, the base station determines whether the antenna has been given a clear channel indication (CCI) for a next transmission time interval (TTI). At the next TTI, the base station transmits data to a UE, wherein the base station transmits the data to the UE using antennas included in said set of antennas that i) are indicated by the state information for the antenna as being in the transmit state and ii) have been given the CCI. The base station adjusts the state information in accordance with a transmit status.

Effective transmission scheduling in a distributed antenna system

A method performed by a network node, for improving the performance of a handover of a user equipment (UE), wherein the network nodeserves a first cellcomprising one or more UEs. When the network nodehas detected that a Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) is determined to be scheduled for a UEin handover from the first cellto a second cell, the network nodeincreases the Control Channel Element (CCE) aggregation level in an OFDM-subframe to be sent to the UEin a TTI related to the handover. By increasing the CCE aggregation level during a handover procedure, the effective coding rate of the PDCCH is increased, which leads to a more robust coding and reliability. Thereby the number of unsuccessful handovers and lost service is effectively reduced.

Increasing robustness of handover signalling by increasing the aggregation level of control channel elements

A base station that implements an improved link adaptation process that takes into account the fact that a certain reference signal (e.g., CSI-RS) may be seen as interference by certain wireless communication devices (WCDs). Accordingly, when the base station schedules a data transmission for the WCD to occur in a particular TTI and the base station is scheduled to transmit the CSI-RS during the same TTI, the base station will tend to select a more robust MCS for the data transmission to the WCD to counter effect the possible interference caused by the CSI-RS.
