The invention relates to a computer-implemented method of controlling the cabin climate in a vehicle travelling on a road. A requested temperature value of a desired temperature for at least one part of the cabin is detected. An allowable temperature deviation from the requested temperature value is determined. Topographic data representative of the topography of an upcoming road segment is acquired. A flow creating device of an air-conditioning system of the vehicle is controlled based on the acquired topographic data so as to maintain the temperature within the allowable deviation. The invention also relates to a computer program, to a computer readable medium, to a control unit and to a vehicle.

A processing unit segments the route into a plurality of sections. It is, for each section, obtains a set of route section characteristic values, R, that will impact the energy consumption of the vehicle whilst driving within the section, obtains a set of vehicle energy consumption values, V, that will impact the energy consumption of the vehicle whilst driving within the section at least partly based on R, estimates a first probability distribution, P, of the energy consumption for the vehicle whilst driving within the section based on R, V, and a first set of traffic information values, T, within the section, estimates a second probability distribution, P, of the energy consumption for the vehicle whilst driving within the section based on R, V, and a second set of traffic information values, T, within the section, estimates a traffic flow indicator, I, for the section based on R, Vand a third set of traffic information values, T, within the section, and determines a route section probability distribution, P, of the energy consumption for the vehicle whilst driving within the section based on the relation between I, P, and P.

Processing unit and method therein for enabling reliable range estimations for a vehicle along a route

In a method performed by a control unit for controlling energy flows of a vehicle, where the vehicle includes a vehicle energy system which in turn includes a plurality of energy subsystems. Within each energy subsystem one form of energy is used. The energy subsystems are operationally connected by converters, wherein converters are devices converting at least one form of energy to another form of energy. By setting a price, limits for the converters converting energy between the energy subsystem the energy flows of the vehicle can be controlled by the control unit such that at least during period of times the order in which the energy subsystems of the vehicle is provided with energy can be changed.

A method performed by a control unit for managing energy flows within an energy system of a vehicle is provided. The energy system includes a plurality of energy subsystems connected by converters. The converter can convert energy of one energy form from one energy subsystem to energy of another energy form of another energy subsystem. At least one energy subsystem includes an energy buffer. According to the method performed by a control unit vehicle travel route information is collected for a predefined travel route whereby the travel route can be divided in part routes. By estimating an energy consumption over respective part route for each energy buffer an estimated energy buffer price for respective part route can be calculated by the control unit. The estimated energy buffer price can subsequently be used such that energy can be provided between energy subsystems such that the available energy for a part route can be distributed within the energy system of the vehicle in the most efficient way by the control unit and the usage of respective energy buffer can be optimized.

Method performed by a control unit to control energy flows of a vehicle

A vehicle system controller is configured to determine a current buffer ratio for a first energy buffer based on a current buffer energy level for the first energy buffer and a predetermined buffer range for the first energy buffer, and determine if the current buffer ratio for the first energy buffer should be increased using energy provided by a power converter, the determination being based on the current buffer ratio for the first energy buffer and a cost for generating energy from energy stored in a second energy buffer using the power converter.
