A gear housing for an aquatic vessel is adapted to be attached at an attachment site to an underside of a hull of the aquatic vessel. The gear housing includes at least one weakened region adapted to yield when the gear housing is rotated at the attachment site following an impact. A breakaway safety system includes such a gear housing, and a fracturable member for attaching the gear housing to the hull at the attachment site, wherein the weakened region is adapted to yield such that the fracturable member fractures. An aquatic vessel includes such a gear housing or such a breakaway safety system.

An hydraulic installation in a boat hull for swinging a properller rig pivotably suspended in a shell on a boat transom using a piston-cylinder device arranged in a hydraulic control circuit. A control valve included in the hydraulic circuit for controlling the flow to and from the hydraulic cylinder is sealingly mounted in a through-opening in the shell, so that one side of the valve faces outwardly towards the propeller rig in order to be subjected to water spray during driving and serve as an oil cooler.

Servo-assisted steering arrangement for an element pivotable about a steering axis, for example a propeller drive means suspended on a boat transom, said drive means driving a pair of hydraulic steering cylinders ( ) which connect the drive means to the transom.
