A rotary machine for acting on a process fluid includes an impeller, a shaft, a drive, a seal and a flush casing. The impeller acts on the process fluid and is mounted on the shaft. The drive is connected to the shaft and rotates the shaft and the impeller about an axial direction. The seal has a sealing element sealing the shaft during rotation of the shaft. The flush casing receives a flushing fluid for flushing the sealing element, and delimits an annular flush chamber extending about the sealing element. The flush casing includes a bushing surrounding the sealing element and delimits a radial leakage gap arranged between the sealing element and the bushing. The bushing delimits an axial leakage gap between the impeller and the bushing, and the width of the axial leakage gap in the axial direction is adjustable.

A vane for an impeller of an agitator includes a socket having a base plane configured to mount the vane to an impeller, and a blade configured to mix a process fluid, the blade having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a blade tip extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge at an end of the blade facing away from the socket, the blade having a pressure side and a suction side, and the pressure side having a first concave region towards the leading edge, a second concave region toward the trailing edge and a convex region between the first and second concave regions.

A vane for an impeller of an agitator for mixing or agitating a process fluid includes a socket for mounting the vane to an impeller and a blade for mixing or agitating the process fluid, the blade being connected to the socket, the blade having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a blade tip extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge at the end of the blade facing away from the socket, and the blade having a height and a width. The height is the maximum distance of the blade tip from the socket and the width is the distance of the leading edge from the trailing edge. The blade has a maximum width that is at least 55 percent.

An absorbent article includes an absorbent core () including a fluid storage member (), a fluid distribution layer () and a fluid receiving layer (). The distribution layer () is disposed to extend in the crotch portion () and in at least a substantial portion of one of the waist portions (or) of the article and is absent in at least a substantial part of the opposite waist portion of the article so as to promote fluid flow from the crotch portion () towards the one waist portion (or). A fluid barrier () is arranged at or in close proximity to one transverse end edge of the fluid distribution layer (), located in or adjacent the crotch portion () of the article, the fluid barrier () extending through at least a substantial part of the thickness of the layer.

Absorbent article

An absorbent disposable article, such as nappy pants, has a T-shaped tape attached on the outside of the article with such adhesion that the tape withstands a load of at least 25 N in the tape flap without the tape coming away from the outer layer. The tape flap is arranged in a parked state during use and can also be used to seal the article into a closed, folded package after use. When the tape flap has been freed from its parked state, the tape flap forms a stem portion of a T with the two cross-legs of the T permanently attached to the outer layer, so the tensile forces in the tape flap are taken up by the two legs. The outer layer includes a non-woven laminate, with at least one outer ply of spunbond and an inner ply of at least one meltblown.

There is provided an absorbent article, such as a diaper, a pant diaper or an incontinence protector that includes longitudinally extending edges and transversally extending edges, a bottom liquid-impermeable sheet, an absorbent layer, longitudinally extending liquid barriers fastened along or on the longitudinal edges of the article, side-flaps which extend laterally outside the liquid barriers and a first upper, essentially liquid-permeable surface sheet between said liquid barriers and a second upper, essentially liquid-impermeable surface sheet outwardly of said liquid barriers, wherein the ends of the liquid barriers are folded down at the front and/or rear end-part and fastened flat against the first and/or the second upper surface sheet. Those areas of the surface sheets situated at the front and/or the rear end-part are comprised of essentially liquid-impermeable material or are covered with essentially liquid-impermeable material. At least a part of said areas has been made permeable to liquid, preferably by perforating said part, down to the absorbent layer which extends beneath at least portions of said part. That part which has been made permeable to liquid is located within at least parts of the downwardly folded ends of the liquid barriers and/or the second surface sheet.
