The controller generates projection image data representing a part or a whole, which falls in the target area, of the embroidery patter relative to the sewing area, and controls the projector to project a projection image based on the projection image data after moving the embroidery hoop.

An apparatus includes a moving device moving a holding member and a cutting or printing head relative to each other. The apparatus specifies, as a designated position, a position of an ultrasonic source located within a projection range on the holding member. The control device determines whether each one of a plurality of sets of sewing data for sewing a pattern is editable, displays on the display device, editable pattern described by the sewing data that has been determined to be editable, and acquires a selection command that selects an object pattern from among the editable pattern.
