A projector includes: an external case provided with an opening through which light passes; a projection system disposed within an inside space of the external case, wherein the projection system includes a reflection member having a reflection surface capable of reflecting light received from a light source device to guide the light toward the opening, and projects the light to the outside of the external case via the opening; and a detection unit which detects a foreign material existing on the optical path of the light in the area of light exit of the opening.

A projector includes: a projection optical device; an exterior housing; a shutter; and a support member, the shutter and support member are provided with an engagement structure including an engagement protrusion which being provided on either one of them, protrudes along a vertical axis, and an engagement groove which being provided on the other, and extending in a direction in which the shutter moves, guides a movement of the engagement protrusion by the engagement protrusion being inserted therein, and the engagement groove is provided in such a way that a start end at which the engagement protrusion is positioned in the closed position is positioned to the projection optical device projection side of a finish end at which the engagement protrusion is positioned in the open position.

A projector includes: an external housing which forms an external case, wherein a bottom surface of the external housing as a surface opposed to an installation surface on which the projector is installed has feet contacting the installation surface, the feet has a first foot freely projected toward the installation surface and withdrawn from the installation surface, and a second foot disposed away from the first foot and projected toward the installation surface, and the second foot is inclined in a direction away from the first foot in such a manner that the inclination of the second foot increases in the direction toward the installation surface.

A projector includes a light source device; an exhaust fan configured to take air in the vicinity of the light source device in and discharge the same; a power supply device configured to supply electric power to components of the projector; an outer casing configured to accommodate the light source device and the power supply device in the interior thereof and provided with an exhaust port formed thereon; and a first duct configured to guide the air discharged from the exhaust fan to the exhaust port, and the power supply device includes a second duct configured to guide the air in the interior of the power supply device toward the first duct, and an air incoming port configured to take the air discharged from the second duct into the first duct is formed with the first duct.
