This document discloses a portable system comprising a physical activity monitoring device comprising: a wireless proximity detection module configured to detect a proximity of an input control entity with respect to the physical activity monitoring device and output a control signal as a response to the detection, wherein the proximity is a non-zero distance between the input control entity and the training computer; and a user interface controller configured to generate, as a response to the control signal from the wireless proximity detection module, at least one of an audio control function and a display control function.

User interface control in portable system

A system includes a portable device and an external device connected wirelessly. Graphical user interface data determines a user interface functionality to be executed in a user interface of the external device in the portable apparatus, and is transmitted to the external device. The user interface functionality includes presenting at least one graphical interaction element on the user interface and receiving user input as a response to the user interacting with the graphical interaction element. The input data received from the user interface is used in the portable device to control a computer process relating to physiological data.

Remote display

A wearable electronic apparatus, a computer program and a method are disclosed. Physical activity data measured relating to a user of a wearable electronic apparatus is obtained. An exercise mode of the wearable electronic apparatus is switched on such that information related to the physical activity data is outputted to the user. While the exercise mode is on, wireless application data is received, and, only if the application data fulfills a predetermined relevance condition, the application data is outputted to the user.

Wearable electronic apparatus

A system includes a wrist computer and a portable video camera. The wrist computer acquires physical activity data measured by a sensor device, generates a time marker on the basis of the physical activity data, and transmits the time marker to the portable video camera according to a predefined wireless communication protocol. The portable video camera is configured to record video data, encode the video data into a video data file, and store the received time marker as meta data in the video file.

Wrist computer wireless communication and event detection

A method includes acquiring physiological exercise data from a plurality of physiological exercise sensors applied by a group of exercisers; determining a performance metric for each exerciser on the basis of the acquired physiological exercise data; detecting whether or not a predetermined common target is met on the basis of the performance metrics; and triggering an event upon detecting that the predetermined common target is met.

Managing physiological exercise data

A method includes determining that a portable apparatus is in an exercise mode; obtaining, by the portable apparatus when in the exercise mode, real-time exercise data of a user of the portable apparatus acquired using a sensor set having one or more sensors, and reference data related to the exercise mode; observing, when in the exercise mode, the real-time exercise data, and detecting, during the observing based on comparison of the real-time exercise data with the reference data, that at least one value of the exercise data is uncharacteristic to the exercise mode; and determining, when in the exercise mode, whether the detection of the at least one uncharacteristic value is related to an unpredicted incident, and as a response to the determining that the detection of the at least one uncharacteristic value is related to the unpredicted incident, causing an output of an emergency signal.

Enhancing exercise safety

There is provided an apparatus, wherein the apparatus is configured to perform operations comprising: obtaining heading information indicating a target heading to a target; detecting, during swimming, that the swimmer deviates from the target heading; and informing the swimmer, via a user interface element, that the swimmer has deviated from the target heading.

There is provided a server computer system configured to acquire recorded exerise data of an exercise performed by an exeriser; acquire recorded location data of the exercise, wherein the location data depicts a route travlled during the exerise; acquire a map of an area which comprises the trivlled route; generate the dynamic execise presentation on the basis of the exercise data andthe location data, wherein the dynamic exercise presentation comprises: displaying the exercise data as a function of the location data on a display having the map as a background, and automatically moving a pointer on the display along the traveled route on the basis of the location data such that the moving pointer depocts the location of the exerciser on the travlled route as the exercise advances; and cause a display of the exercise presentation on the display via a network.

Displaying exercise data

A processing system includes a memory storing tasks that define a physical exercise and a target value. The tasks are divided into categories of training requirements, and each category is linked to a progress status indicator. The processing system determines a progress status and retrieves a task from a category corresponding to the progress status; instructs the user to carry out a physical exercise; acquires measurement data generated during physical exercise; compares information acquired from the measurement data with the target value. Upon determining, on the basis of the comparison that the user reached the target value, the processing system stores a task indicator to indicate that the task was completed the progress status of the user has increased sufficiently as a result of completing the task, the processing system raises the progress status of the user, and retrieves a subsequent task.

Training apparatus for guiding user to improve fitness

A method of providing advertising content using a group training system (GTS) includes transferring first advertising content from an advertiser system (AS) to a first GTS by an advertising content service provider system (ACSPS), transferring payment from the AS by the ACSPS as compensation for the first advertising content being displayed on a multi-user display associated with the first GTS, and transferring payment from the ACSPS to an entity associated with the first GTS as compensation for the first advertising content being displayed on the multi-user display associated with the first GTS. An advertising content service provider system (ACSPS) includes a processing device and a memory device. The processing device transfers first advertising content from an advertiser system (AS) to a first GTS for display on a multi-user display associated with the first GTS, payment is transferred by the processing device from the AS as compensation for the first advertising content being displayed on the multi-user display associated with the first GTS, and payment is transferred by the processing device to an entity associated with the first GTS as compensation for the first advertising content being displayed on the multi-user display associated with the first GTS. A computer-readable storage medium includes instructions in accordance with the disclosed method.
