A washing machine includes a first washing tub, and a second washing tub detachably coupled to the first washing tub. The second washing tub includes a container containing laundry, a lower cover coupled to a top of the container and having an inlet configured to receive a water stream moving upwards in the container when the first washing tub rotates, and an upper cover coupled to a top of the lower cover and having an opening for putting the laundry into the container. A flow path is provided between the lower cover and the upper cover to discharge the water stream introduced through the inlet to an outside of the second washing tub. A slide lock is provided on the upper cover, movable between a binding position and an unbinding position, bound to the lower cover in the binding position, and separated from the lower cover in the unbinding position.

A drum of a washing machine, which is configured to receive laundry and to perform washing or dehydration, includes a circumferential surface that defines a plurality of first patterns that protrude from the circumferential surface toward an interior of the drum, a second pattern that is recessed from the circumferential surface toward an exterior of the drum and that is surrounded by the plurality of first patterns, and a through hole located at the second pattern.

A pet care device may include a head having a sterilizer and a handle extending from the head. The head may be formed of an outer body and an inner body positioned in an inner region of the outer body. A first space may be formed between the outer body and the inner body in which the sterilizer is provided. The sterilizer may include at least one light emitting device, and a light device may cover the first space. A second space partitioned from the first space may be at least partially located inside the inner body. Hair and/or debris may be collected in the second space.

A washing machine includes a drum rotated about a vertical axis, and opened at a top thereof, a ring-shaped balancer coupled to an upper end of the drum, and a container detachably coupled to the balancer to contain laundry. The container includes a container body opened at a top thereof, and containing the laundry therein, and a plurality of threads protruding from an outer surface of the container body, extending long in a vertical direction, and arranged in a circumferential direction. Each of the threads is formed such that heights from valleys to roofs are gradually increased in a direction from bottom to top. The balancer includes engagement grooves formed on a ring-shaped inner circumference thereof to engage with the plurality of threads.

A controller may identify the type of care tool mounted on the head based on a sensing value of the sensor and control the sterilizer based on the identified care tool.
