An apparatus including circuitry configured to: transition from displaying an in-focus image of a first scene to displaying a first alternative image; transition from displaying the first alternative image to displaying a second alternative image; transition from displaying the second alternative image to displaying an in-focus image of a second scene; wherein the in-focus image of the first scene and the first alternative image are defined by a first transportable multi-image container, and wherein the in-focus image of second scene and second alternative image are defined by a second transportable multi-image container separate to the first transportable multi-image container.

Displayed image transition

Examples of the disclosure relate to sharing a device between two or more authenticated users. In examples of the disclosure an apparatus is configured to enable a first user to access one or more applications of a device. The apparatus can then enable authenticating a second user and enable the second user to access one or more functions of at least one application. The apparatus can also detect one or more peripheral devices associated with the second user and configure the apparatus to provide outputs to and/or receive inputs from the one or more peripheral devices associated with the second user. The outputs and/or inputs relate to the one or more functions to which access has been enabled for the second user.

Device sharing

An apparatus, method and computer program is described comprising: providing a stereo or spatial audio signal produced using individual signals from respective microphones of a user device, the stereo or spatial audio signal representing an audio scene; detecting unwanted noise in at least one of the individual signals; responsive to detecting the unwanted noise, modifying the stereo or spatial audio signal based on a determined level of spatial interest in the audio scene meeting a predetermined condition; and providing the modified audio signal for output via one or more speakers.

Selective modification of stereo or spatial audio

An apparatus and method for image processing is disclosed. The method may include receiving an image from a camera sensor, receiving selection of one or more target objects appearing in the image and tracking the one or more target objects over a plurality of subsequently-received images. For the subsequently-received images in turn, the method may include estimating one or more performance metric(s) associated with performing a fill-in processing operation of the one or more tracked target objects and saving the image as an optimised reference image if the respective performance metric(s) indicate an improved performance over that of one or more previously-received images from the time of receiving selection. The method may include performing the fill-in processing operation using one or more of the saved optimised reference images for output to a display screen.

An apparatus including circuitry configured for causing audio processing to a spatial audio-visual representation of an image and sound apparatus, the spatial audio-visual representation being live or reproduced from recording; and modifying the audio processing applied to an audio-visually manipulated spatial section of the spatial audio-visual representation in response to information a prior audio-visual manipulation with data processing in the audio-visually manipulated spatial section.

Image and audio apparatus and method

To implement some methods of attenuating noise it can be useful to obtain an accurate estimate of the noise in the microphone signals. Examples of the disclosure provide a method of accurately estimating incoherent noise levels. In examples of the disclosure a primary estimation of a noise amount is made. The primary estimation of a noise amount is used to determine a direction parameter and a diffuseness parameter. The determined direction parameter and the estimated diffuseness parameter are used to estimate a predicted level difference between a first microphone signal and a second microphone signal. A level difference between the first microphone signal and the second microphone signal is determined and a noise level is estimated using at least the determined level difference and the predicted level difference.

Estimating noise levels

An apparatus for assisting spatial audio signal processing, the apparatus including circuitry configured to: capture, at least using at least three microphones in the apparatus, sensor data including microphone audio signals; analyse the sensor data to determine at least one three-dimension direction of a sound source; and process the sensor data to map the at least one three-dimension direction of the sound source to at least one further direction, wherein the processing of the sensor data is configured to employ at least a parasagittal plane based mapping.

Apparatus for mapping sound source direction

Example embodiments are disclosed relating to virtual content. Example embodiments may involve providing video data for output to a user device, the video data representing a virtual scene comprising one or more virtual objects at respective locations in the virtual scene with which a user of the user device may interact during an interactive session. The interactive session may be paused and a resumption input may be received at a second time, subsequent to the first time, for unpausing the interactive session. Responsive to receiving the resumption input, it may be detected that interaction with a particular virtual object, with which the user has interacted prior to the interactive session being paused, is restricted due to physical properties of a real-world space in which the user is located at the second time. The virtual scene may be modified to permit interaction with the particular virtual object without the detected restriction.

Virtual content

An apparatus, method and computer-program is described relating to user control in augmented reality (AR). For example, the method may comprise determining, based on motion of a user, one or more future step locations along a path. The method may also comprise displaying, via an augmented reality display device associated with the user, one or more interactive items. Each of the one or more interactive items may be associated with a respective one of the future step locations and is displayed so as to be perceived at a respective display position which is at or near said associated respective future step location. The method may also comprise detecting a control input associated with a particular interactive item, based at least in part on the user having reached a selection area which is at or near said associated future step location along the path.

User control in augmented reality

An apparatus, method and computer program product for: providing spatial audio content for output via at least one loudspeaker, determining a position of at least one audio device operatively connected to the at least one loudspeaker, providing, in response to determining that the position of the at least one audio device corresponds to an audio zone associated with additional spatial audio content, the additional spatial audio content for output via the at least one audio device, receiving an instruction to include the additional spatial audio content in the spatial audio content, and supplementing, in response to receiving the instruction to include the additional spatial content in the spatial audio content, the spatial audio content with the additional spatial audio such that the additional spatial audio content is provided for output independent of the audio zone.

An apparatus, method and computer program is described for rendering visual content on a display screen. The apparatus comprises a means for rendering visual content on a display screen. The means for rendering is configured to render said visual content at a first rendering position on said display screen. The apparatus further comprises a means for receiving data relating to optical properties of said eye correction means at said detected user gaze direction.
