Methods, systems, and computer readable media are disclosed for estimating an amount of an analyte in blood of a subject. In an example, a method includes obtaining a noise filtered current by noise filtering a current received from an analyte sensor placed interstitially in tissue of the subject, estimating one or more blood analyte calibration parameters based on the noise filtered current, obtaining a second set of one or more interstitial analyte calibration parameters based at least in part on the one or more blood analyte calibration parameters, and estimating the amount of the analyte in the blood of the subject based on the noise filtered current and the one or more interstitial analyte calibration parameters. In this way, an analyte sensor that is placed interstitially may readily be calibrated to report accurate blood analyte values.

Sensor signal processing with kalman-based calibration

A method of in vivo conditioning of an indwelling sensor to reduce run-in time, (stabilization time) comprising: a) applying a first potential to the sensor and measuring a first current at the first potential; b) applying a second potential to the sensor and measuring a second current at the second potential; c) determining a relationship of the first current measured to the second current measured; repeating a, b, and c until the relationship between the first current measured and the second current measured has stabilized, thereby reducing sensor run-in time.

Method for conditioning of a sensor

Embodiments provide for methods, systems, apparatus and computer readable media for calibrating an analyte sensor upon insertion into tissue of a subject based at least in part on parameters obtained from another analyte sensor already calibrated and previously inserted into the tissue of the subject. As an example, a method may include predicting a background current associated with the newly inserted sensor, subtracting the background current from a current measured by the newly inserted sensor, and converting the subtracted current to a glucose value, the converting based at least in part on the parameters obtained from the previously inserted analyte sensor. In this way, the newly inserted sensor may be calibrated without relying on actual blood-based analyte measurements, and accuracy and sensitivity of the newly inserted sensor may be improved.
