A resonator cavity for supporting a plurality of resonant modes and filtering electromagnetic energy includes a cavity and a resonator element with a mounting flange. The cavity is defined by a top end wall, a bottom end wall and a sidewall and has a longitudinal axis along its length is defined. The resonator element is positioned within the cavity along the longitudinal axis and includes a mounting flange. The resonator element is only in physical contact with the cavity through the mounting flange at a mounting location and where at least one resonant mode of the electromagnetic energy exhibits a local minimum. The dimensions of the cavity and the resonator element are selected so that the associated electromagnetic energy is defined by an electromagnetic field pattern that substantially repeats itself at least twice along the length of the resonator.

Various embodiments are provided herein for a configurable high frequency coaxial switch. The switch includes a switch housing module that has at least two ports and is adapted for operation in a wide frequency band. The switch also includes at least one frequency-matching port component module that is configured to connect a transmission line to one of the ports of the switch housing module. The at least one frequency-matching port component module is also configured to provide a match to a desired frequency range. In use, the switch housing module together with the at least one frequency-matching port component module allow for operation of the configurable high frequency coaxial switch at the desired frequency range.

Filter and manifold compensation assemblies for thermal compensation of a filter cavity and a manifold which include at least one a lever element pivotally coupled to the filter or manifold at a first pivot point, an anchoring element pivotally coupled to the lever element at the second pivot point and secured to the housing of the filter or manifold, and a thermal expansion element having a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than the filter cavity or manifold and pivotally coupled to the lever element. The relative thermal expansion of the thermal expansion element in comparison with the thermal expansion of the filter or manifold causes the lever element to articulate and to displace the housing for thermal compensation. The degree of each displacement is proportional to the ratio between the distance between the second and first pivot points and the distance between the second and the third pivot points.

Thermal expansion compensation assemblies

A linear switch actuator for actuating a movable element within a microwave switch includes a ferromagnetic shield, a coil positioned within, and a movable armature assembly positioned within the coil. The armature assembly is coupled to the movable element and includes a ferromagnetic rod and first and second permanent magnets. The permanent magnets are coupled on either end of the rod and have opposite pole orientations. The armature assembly moves between first and second stroke end positions. When one of the permanent magnets is positioned substantially outside the shield, the magnetic permeance of the armature assembly is maximized, and the armature assembly experiences bi-stable latching between the two stroke end positions. When the coil is energized, the armature assembly moves between these positions due to magnetic interaction between the energized coil and the field associated with the permanent magnets and the solenoid magnetic field associated with the coil which reduces the magnetic permeance associated with said armature assembly.

The contact comprises a probe contact member having a first contact region with a first surface, and a reed contact member having a second contact region with a second surface. The second surface is non-conformal with respect to the first surface for providing an incomplete mechanical contact when the contact members are in contact.
