A wind turbine includes a hub, at least one blade and at least one pitch bearing to connect the at least one blade to the hub. The at least one pitch bearing has at least an inner ring and an outer ring, and at least a rolling race. The wind turbine further includes at least a tensioning system configured to exert a radial compression force to at least a part of the outer ring of the at least one pitch bearing, thus increasing the resultant stiffness of the at least one pitch bearing.

A nacelle includes in turn a nacelle frame, and a yaw bearing having likewise/in turn at least a geared ring for providing a rotatable connection between the nacelle and the tower around a yaw axis. A method includes the steps of: a) disengaging the rotatable connection between the nacelle and the tower; b) lifting the nacelle from the tower by using lifting means, allowing the rotation of the geared ring; and c) rotating the geared ring around the yaw axis until the geared ring reaches a predetermined position with respect to the component to which the geared ring is connectable, either to the nacelle or the tower.

Method and device to extend the life cycle of a wind turbine

A method of assembling a wind turbine tower by stacking a plurality of annular sections made of concrete above each other. The main connections are performed between two adjacent annular sections, for withstanding loads induced by a rotor. The auxiliary connections are performed between two adjacent annular sections, for withstanding loads induced by an earthquake and loads induced by the wind on the wind turbine in absence of the rotor, but not necessarily loads induced by the rotor. The method is characterized in that the auxiliary connections between two adjacent annular sections are performed prior to stacking the following annular section.

Method for assembling a wind turbine and wind turbine assembled according to said method

A blade for a rotor of a wind turbine having a longitudinal direction with a tip end and a root end and a transverse direction, comprising: a profiled contour that when impacted by an incident airflow, generates a lift, wherein the profiled contour is divided into: a root region having a substantially circular or elliptical profile closest to the hub, an airfoil region having a lift-generating profile furthest away from the hub, and a transition region between the root region and the airfoil region, the transition region having a profile gradually changing in the radial direction to the lift-generating profile of the airfoil region, and further comprising a shoulder, wherein the shoulder is located in the airfoil region, thus yielding a slender and relative thick blade maximizing energy output, reducing bearing loads and facilitating transportation.

A control system and control method of a wind farm allows taking into account dynamic variations in the possibilities of reactive power generation of each wind turbine with respect to maximum reactive power generation capacities. The system is configured to receive from at least one first wind turbine of the wind turbines of the wind farm a maximum reactive power limit desired lower than a minimum reactive power capacity required. The system is configured to calculate the individual reactive power setpoints for each of the at least two wind turbines of the wind farm such that the individual reactive power setpoint for the at least one first wind turbine of the wind farm does not exceed the maximum reactive power limit desired.
