Systems and methods are described for analyzing the content of resource requests. A tokenizer parses the resource request and derives a key therefrom. A database associates values of the key with categories of service. An association engine uses the key to obtain one or more matching entries from the database, and derive therefrom the desired category of service for the resource request. A cookie engine derives cookie information from a cookie located in the resource request. A session engine derives session information from a session identifier located in a handshake message associated with the resource request. The desired category of service, the cookie information, and the session information are each useful for allocating a resource to the resource request.

Method of and system for analyzing the content of resource requests

Systems and related methods are described for handling one or more resource requests. A protocol engine receives a resource request in accordance with a prescribed protocol, and a classification engine determines a desired class of service for the request. An analysis engine optionally analyzes the request, and, responsive thereto, determines a desired sub-class of service for the request. A policy engine then allocates a resource to the request responsive to one or both of the desired class of service, and the desired sub-class of service.

Switching system

A system and method of allocating a resource to a service request. Servers are virtually assigned through a hierarchy including groups of servers and super groups of the groups of servers. Each service request type is associated with a service index that determines both a super group and a load balancing policy for that service request type. A load balancing policy may be applied to select a group of servers among several server groups associated with the super group. Another load balancing policy is applied to the selected group of servers to select a server to handle the service request. The hierarchical data structure allows servers to be configured into overlappable, arbitrary subsets that can address service requests matching configured content rules. Load balancing policies can be selected by service request type.

Method of and system for allocating resources to resource requests

A packet reassembly system includes a buffer for storing information elements included in one or more incoming packets, a memory for storing validity indicators corresponding to the information elements, a first logic circuit capable of setting the validity indicators based on the information elements stored in the buffer, and a second logic circuit capable of determining the contiguity of the information elements stored in the buffer based on the settings of the validity indicators.

Method and system for reassembling and parsing packets in a network environment

A snorkel and buoyancy control apparatus is provided for a snorkeler who employs a snorkel tube assembly for receiving inhaled air. The snorkel and buoyancy control apparatus includes a mouthpiece/selector valve assembly, connected to the snorkel tube assembly, for receiving inhaled air from the snorkel tube assembly and for selectively directing exhaled air to either a one-way valve assembly, e.g. flapper valve assembly, or to a buoyancy control vest. The mouthpiece/selector valve assembly includes a selector valve assembly and a mouthpiece assembly which are connected together. The selector valve assembly includes a first manually-actuated output port selector assembly which enables selective direction of exhaled air either to the flapper valve assembly or to the buoyancy control vest. The flapper valve assembly permits one-way flow of exhaled air from inside the selector valve assembly to outside the selector valve assembly. The buoyancy control vest is connected to the selector valve assembly for selectively receiving exhaled air based upon selective operation of the first manually-actuated output port selector assembly. The snorkel tube assembly may be connected to a selector valve assembly portion of the mouthpiece/selector valve assembly. Alternatively, the snorkel tube assembly can be connected to a mouthpiece assembly portion of the mouthpiece/selector valve assembly.

Snorkel and buoyancy control apparatus

A new and improved snorkel and buoyancy control apparatus includes a snorkel tube for receiving inhaled air, a first one-way air valve connected to the snorkel tube for permitting air flow into the snorkel tube during inhalation, and a mouthpiece for receiving inhaled air and for supplying the inhaled air to the snorkeler's mouth and lungs. The mouthpiece includes a mouthpiece output port for permitting exhaled air to exit from the snorkeler's mouth. A second one-way air valve is connected to the mouthpiece for permitting air flow from the mouthpiece to a selector valve assembly. The selector valve assembly, connected to the mouthpiece by way of the second one-way air valve, receives exhaled air from the mouthpiece and selectively directs exhaled air to either a first selector valve output port connected to a vent or to a second selector valve output port connected to a buoyancy control vest which includes a first port connected to the selector valve assembly. Air directed to the buoyancy control vest is used to inflate the buoyancy control vest. The selector valve assembly may also include a mode for connecting the buoyancy control vest to the vent to deflate the buoyancy control vest.
