A method of manufacturing a tub section for a washing machine, wherein the tub section has a bearing housing of a bearing. The method includes manufacturing a first pre-product having the bearing housing and a plastic cover covering a side surface of the bearing housing; manufacturing a plastic second pre-product; and joining the first pre-product and the second pre-product to form the tub section. The plastic cover of the first pre-product has a greater material strength than the second pre-product and the plastic cover of the first pre-product and the plastic second pre-product include the same base product.

Tub section for a washing machine

A washing machine having a simple, leak-tight drain line that can be easily assembled on the wash tub of the washing machine is disclosed. The washing machine includes a valve part that is connected to the wash tub in a sealed fashion and designed in one piece together with the wash tub. The valve part has a drain valve, an outlet connection having a drain opening, and a pipe part connected to the outlet connection and to a drain pump for water transfer. The drain valve can float in the wash water and is moveably disposed inside the valve part to seal the drain opening when wash water is located inside the wash tub and when the drain pump is idle, and to open the drain opening when no wash water is located inside the wash tub and when the drain pump is operating.

A plastic washing-machine tub with a front wall, a rear wall and a cylindrical wall enclosing an inner tub compartment, which comprises: two tub shells made from injection-molded plastic that can be connected together by means of an assembly plane in a tub closure direction, the first tub shell comprising the front wall and the second tub shell comprising the rear wall; an integral bulge emerging from the cylindrical wall and defining a cavity connected to the inner tub compartment, the bulge having at least one inlet and/or outlet opening.
