The present invention is referred to a packing frame and a system for packing and handling glass sheets. The structure being formed for at least two supporting sections, each supporting section including at least two structural profiles which are connected in the upper part and are separated in the lower part. In lower part of each profile is attached a support profile, in a horizontal position, which is connected to the lower part of the structural profiles, forming a base for each one of the supporting sections. The horizontal profile having a first supporting section and a second supporting section, both supporting section being of a major extent, on each side of the supporting section in order to support a series of glass sheet packages. Each one of the supporting sections being placed in a relation one in front to the other, which are joined by crossing members forming the assembly of the supporting frame. Posts are equidistantly distributed in different places of each supporting section, wherein a plurality of strapping bands are extended around the glass sheet packages and posts, in order in order to maintain together a group of individual glass sheets packages, on both sides of the supporting frame.

Packing frame and system for the packing and handling of glass sheet packages

A corner element for use in forming a package of glass sheets comprises two corner pieces, each of which includes a first and a second planar arm, said first and second planar arms forming a right angle. The first and second arms are each formed with a planar projection extending at right angles from each arm, each planar projection being attached on the first and second arms in a position different with respect to each other so that when the two pieces are interfit with each other, the planar projections of one corner piece and the planar projections of the other piece form a protective enclosure around each one the corners of the sheet glass package. A post extending horizontally outwardly from one of the planar projections of each corner element is used to lift the glass sheet package to be transported.
