An elastic cord having at least one tapered protruding portion along its length, wherein the extent of protrusion is reduced when the cord is axially stretched, and returns to its original size when the cord is relaxed, is described. One embodiment includes an elastic core about which a flexible sheath is fitted, wherein chosen axially spaced-apart portions of the sheath form tapered isolates or knots in accordance with selected patterns for protrusions therein when the elastic core is in its relaxed state. Such knots are formed when the sheath is cause to bunch up at these axial locations. Sheath patterns may be achieved by employing a woven structure for the sheath. The protruding portions or knots reversibly resist movement of the elastic cord through an opening having a chosen size, such as an eyelet of a shoe. When a unidirectional force is applied to the cord whereby the cord is stretched, the extent of the protruding portion or knot may be sufficiently reduced to enable the cord to be drawn through the opening.

A container indicator system having an internal surface and internal area for storage of materials and an external surface; and an indicator (swiveling arm, reflector, textile material, rubber, plastic, metal flag, sign) attached to the container. The indicator described is optionally a flexible material, a swiveling arm integrated with an axis and a swiveling arm without an axis, a reflector or combinations of the foregoing and even multiple combinations of the foregoing to indicate various states of the container. The indicator is attached to the internal or external surface of the container or in the case of the swiveling arm (using a mounting plate) that acts itself as an indicator a further indicator like a reflector, or flag is attached near its extreme external end. The indicator is moveable from the internal area of the container to an external area.

Contents indicators and container system

A thin, non-metallic toe protector comprising short particles and method of making same. The particles are preferably less than 0.25 inches long. The preferred toe cap has a thickness of preferably less than 0.165 inches and a reinforcing matrix. The toe protector meets or exceeds national safety standards.

Toe protectors

A cordage for threading through an opening. An elastic cord is provided with an elongated shank component and at least one outwardly expandable component. When the cord is under tension, the expandable component shrinks to a diameter which is sufficient to enable its movement through an opening, such as an eyelet of a shoe. In response to the tension being released, the expandable component enlarges to a diameter which is sufficiently large to resist movement through the opening.

Draw-tight elastic cordage

An actuation device sensitive to the flow of electricity from an electrical conductor from a source of electricity into an appliance. The appliance, upon being electrically activated, is to receive a flow of a fluid from a supply pipe. The actuation device to be connected to a valve mounted in conjunction with the supply pipe with this valve being movable from a closed position to an open position upon electricity being supplied to the appliance.
