A method for simultaneous removal of NO and carbonic particles and inorganic dust from flue gases in a reactor with a catalyst for direct decomposition of nitric oxide located on a metallic monolith, includes tangential introduction of flue gases to the reactor circumference. Flue gases flow rotationally and downwards in the reactor in contact with an undulating surface of metallic foil located on an inner wall of the reactor chamber and in contact with the catalyst on a spiral band falling to the lower part of the reactor, and next flue gases jet direction counter-currently to a cylindrical inner chamber containing slices of the monolithic catalyst disturbing laminar flow of the flue gases jet. The reactor arrangement provides for simultaneous removal of NO and carbon particles and inorganic dust from flue gases.

A monolithic catalyst for simultaneous removal of NOand carbon particles, especially from off-gases of carbon power plants contains the monolith is made from acid-proof austenitic steel. The catalyst is a two-phase one; moreover, it contains the phases NiFeOand FeO(Mh) with spinel structure, and these phases form microcrystallites, additionally containing Mn. The manner of production of the monolithic catalyst for simultaneous removal of NOand carbon particles, especially from off-gases of carbon power plants depends on the monolith is subject to oxidation after which the resulting oxide layers are washed with the solution of nickel salts; later the monolith is baked in the oxidising atmosphere with the view to inserting nickel ions into the oxide layer; finally this obtained oxide layers are subject to reduction.

The oxide catalyst for the direct NO decomposition to N2 and 02 is deposited on the austenitic acid-proof steel substrate and contains the phase with aFe203 structure and the phase with spinel structure and the lattice parameters close to the lattice parameters of NiFe204. Those phases form the micro-crystallites that additionally contain Cr and Mn and eventually Si. The catalyst according to the invention is manufactured by the at least twice heating of the austenitc acid-proof steel substrate in the atmosphere containing oxygen, up to the temperature from the 600-850&#xb0; C. range, with the rate of 2-6&#xb0; C./min, followed by the annealing at that temperature for 2-6 hours.
