A rotation indication device for a rock bolt including a central rod with a threaded trailing portion. The rotation indication device includes a blind nut having a threaded central recess for engaging the threaded trailing portion and a visual indication means provided at a bottom portion of the central recess and configured such that upon movement of the threaded trailing portion of the central rod into the bottom portion of the central recess, the central rod forces at least a portion of the visual indication means to move through a passage in the blind nut between the bottom portion of the central recess and the outside of the blind nut.

A rock bolt for installation within a bore formed in rock strata having an elongate shaft with the leading end for installation into the bore and a trailing end projecting from an open end of the bore. A locking nut is threadably attached to the trailing end and is arranged to display product information and the like at a display face. The display face is recessed axially into the nut to provide protection against damage to the display face that may otherwise render the information unreadable.

A rock bolt arranged for installation within a bore formed in rock strata includes an elongate shaft with the leading end for installation into the bore and a trailing end projecting from an open end of the bore. A rock bolt and meshing assembly is arranged for installation of a meshing sheet against a surface of rock strata. The rock bolt includes an adapter having a first portion connectable to a trailing end of an elongate shaft of the rock bolt and means configured to receive and mount a meshing clamp to overlay a second section of meshing sheet against an already laid first section of meshing sheet.

A friction bolt assembly to frictionally engage a bore formed in rock strata. The assembly includes an elongate tube and an expander mechanism acted on by an anchor mechanism via an elongate bar or cable. A retainer mechanism is mounted to act between the bar or cable and the tube to prevent ejection of the bar or cable from the assembly should the bar or cable break.

A connector, an associated dynamic testing system and method for testing rock bolts or rock anchors in situ. The connector is attached to a rock bolt/anchor and supports a hanging load via a shaft. The connector has a body of two halves retaining upper first and lower second connectors having respective curved surfaces. Each of the two halves has a curved inner surface allowing limited relative rotational movement of the first and second connectors relative to the two halves when a load is applied. A load cell and accelerometer register the load applied to the rock bolt/anchor through the connector and any resulting movement of the rock bolt/anchor.

A friction bolt for frictionally engaging the internal surface of a bore includes a circular tube, which is split longitudinally, and which has a leading end and trailing end. An expander mechanism is disposed within the tube towards the leading end. An elongate bar/cable is disposed within the tube and extends between the expander mechanism at one end and an anchor arrangement at the other end. The bar/cable extends through a ring attached to the trailing end into connection with the anchor arrangement. A restrainer member is disposed within the tube adjacent the ring and extends at least partially about and in engagement with the bar/cable. The tube has a weakened region adjacent the ring and the restrainer member extends longitudinally within the tube past the weakened region. The restrainer member includes a projection that projects through the longitudinal split of the tube for engagement with the bore.

A friction bolt, for frictionally engaging the internal surface of a bore drilled into a rock face. The friction bolt comprises an elongate, generally circular tube which is expandable radially. The tube has a leading end and a trailing end. An expander mechanism is disposed within the tube for applying a load tending to expand at least a section of the tube radially. An elongate tendon is disposed longitudinally within the tube and in connection at or towards one end of the tendon with the expander mechanism and in connection at or towards an opposite end of the tendon with an anchor arrangement. The tendon is actuatable to expand the expander mechanism and to remain connected between the expander mechanism and the anchor arrangement while the expander mechanism is expanded. The expander mechanism comprises a pair of expander elements, a first of which is secured relative to the tube and a second of which is secured to the elongate tendon, actuation of the tendon being operable to cause relative movement between the first and second expander elements to cause the expander mechanism to expand.

An apparatus for manufacturing a cable bolt from a cable () includes first and second clamps () adapted to releasably clamp the cable () with the cable () extending along the longitudinal axis () of the apparatus. A first cable displacement device () longitudinally displaces the first clamp () relative to the second clamp () along the longitudinal axis (). Apparatus and method for manufacturing a rock bolt

An apparatus () for post-grouting a rock bolt () has an elongate sleeve () adapted to receive a rock bolt () with a first end () thereof extending beyond the sleeve first end () and a second end () thereof extending beyond the sleeve second end (). An end fitting () is attached to the sleeve second end () and has a central aperture () for receiving the rock bolt (). Grout passages () communicate the exterior of the end fitting () with the interior of the sleeve (). A seal means () is displaceable between open and closed positions so as to seal the grout passages (). The seal means () is biased towards the closed position at which the grout passages () are substantially sealed. Injection of grout into the end fitting () via the passages () deflects the seal means () to the open position enabling flow of grout through the passages () and into the sleeve ().
