A polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) filament yarn capable of being produced by a high speed spinning method and having a high residual elongation and excellent draw-false twisting processability includes 0.5 to 4.0% by mass of filament elongation enhancing agent particles which are drawn-oriented in the filaments along the longitudinal direction thereof and have a thermal deformation temperature of 40&deg; C. or more but less than 105&deg; C., an average particle size D of 0.03 to 0.35 &mgr;m determined in the cross-sections of the filaments and a ratio L/D of the average particle length L in the filament longitudinal direction to the average cross-sectional particle size D of 2 to 20; and the filament yarn exhibits an increase in the residual elongation of 30% or more due to the presence of the filament elongation enhancing agent, a birefringence &Dgr;n of 0.02 to 0.07, a retaining elongation of 60 to 250% and a thermal stress peak value of 0.18 cN/dtex or less.

Polytrimethylene terephthalate filament yarn and process for its production

A bulky polyester multifilament composite yarn having a delicate hand and an appropriate bulkiness, which comprises two types of polyester filaments FA and FB differing from each other in average filament length, the FA being formed from a polyester resin containing 0.1 to 9.0% by mass of a micropore-forming agent (e.g., a polyoxyalkylene polyether, a metal organic sulfonate, a metal-containing phosphorus compound, and the like) and 0.5 to 5.0% by mass of a residual elongation improver (e.g., a polymer of methyl methacrylate, a polymer of a styrene compound, a polymer of a methylpentene compound, and the like) based on the mass of the polyester-resin, the FA having an average filament length that is from 1.07 to 1.40 times the average filament length of the FB, and the FA forming the peripheral portion of the composite yarn.

Bulky polyester multifilament composite yarn and process for producing the same

A texturized, combined polyester multifilament yarn formed from two types of polyester multifilaments FYA and FYB different in polymer chemical composition from each other and appropriately intermingled with each other, in which yarn, the multifilaments FYB have an average filament length in straightened form of 8 to 40% longer than that of the multifilaments FYA, the coefficient of variation (CV ) of the filament length of FYA is 3% or less, and coefficient of variation (CV ) in difference between the individual filament lengths of the FYB and the average filament length of the FYA is 10 to 20%. The yarn exhibits a high bulkiness and a large filament yarn difference and is free from slippage between the sheath FYB layer and the core FYA portion.

Polyester filament yarn

A spinning dope for the stable production of a cellulose diacetate fiber at a high productivity rate, such fiber being almost free from the occurrence of fluffs and excellent in strength and elongation properties. The spinning dope is a composition formed of (1) acetone or a solvent containing acetone and 0 to 5% by weight, based on the acetone, of water or methanol, (2) 24 to 33% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of cellulose diacetate, and (3) at least a phthalate ester, an aliphatic dibasic acid ester, a fatty acid ester, a phosphate ester, an epoxy plasticizer or a glycol-ester-containing plasticizer; and the composition has a thixotropy index (I), represented by the following equation, of at least 1.3,
