Disclosed is a method for analyzing a sample solution, including introducing a sample solutionthrough a sample introduction partand developing the sample solutionto a developing layerthrough a capillary phenomenon to analyze an analyte contained in the sample solution, the sample introduction partbeing provided on one side of a test stripand the developing layerbeing provided on the other side of the test strip, wherein the test stripis disposed in such a development posture that the downstream region of the developing layer faces downward during the development. By this method, the developing rate is less susceptible to the viscosity of the sample solutionand thus has a small difference even among sample solutionsdiffering in viscosity. As a result, the analytical accuracy and reliability can be improved.

Biosensor

Provided is a biosensor with precision, high accuracy, and high sensitivity capable of increasing measurement accuracy while allowing measurements to be performed anywhere at any time by anyone, and allowing measurement with a small amount of specimen. In a biosensor including a specimen application portion () and a development flow channel (), the specimen application portion () is configured such that an application space () is enclosed by a space-forming member () made of a liquid impermeable material, and a reaction reagent () that contains a labeling-reagent is retained in a position facing the application space () of the space-forming member () in the specimen application portion () so that the reaction reagent can be dissolved into a liquid specimen applied to the application space (). Thus, it is possible to reduce the amount of specimen required for measurement, also completely dissolve the labeling-reagent and cause the labeling-reagent to react and develop with the entire liquid specimen, allowing measurement with high accuracy and high sensitivity.

According to the biosensor and the blood component analytical method of the present invention, in a biosensor that is made of a single layer or plural layers of a porous material as shown in FIG., having a reagent holding part and utilizing chromatography, a cell shrinkage reagent is carried on at least part of the reagent holding part, or at least part of a chromatographically developed part that is upstream of the reagent holding part. According to the biosensor having the above-mentioned structure and the blood component analytical method, even when whole blood is a sample, a high-accuracy blood component analysis cart be performed easily and quickly with less cost.

In a biosensor having a developing layer for developing a sample solution, including a reagent part immobilized to a portion of the developing layer and a marked reagent part which is held in a dry state by a portion of the developing layer, and is dissolvable by developing the sample solution, and qualitatively or quantitatively analyzing an analyte in the sample solution by measuring the amount of the marker reagent bound to the reagent immobilization part; wherein plural reagent immobilization parts exist, and the respective reagent immobilization parts have different affinities for the analyte in the sample solution or the marker reagent, whereby a prozone phenomenon can be detected. Further, a biosensor with a high precision of measurement, which has a wider dynamic range for the concentration of the analyte in the sample solution, can be provided. Thereby, a highly accurate and precise biosensor which can detect a prozone phenomenon even when the range of the concentration of the analyte in the sample solution is wide, and has a wide measurement dynamic range can be provided.

Biosensor and measurement method

A biosensor is provided with an area in which a reagent having bleaching action is carried in a state where it can be dissolved, at least in a part of a sample application area to which an inspection target solution is applied or the downstream of the sample application area in the direction of the inspection target solution permeating, in a development layer. In the so-constituted biosensor, a colored component in the inspection target solution can be faded by the bleaching reagent, so that the color in parts other than a reactive area is reduced in consequence, whereby a visual judgment is possible and a more accurate measurement result in which a reading error by a measuring device is extremely suppressed can be obtained.

A biosensor is provided with a development layer for developing an inspection target solution, that has a reagent immobilization part where an antibody for a measurement target in the inspection target solution is immobilized and a reagent holding part which marks in a dry state and holds an antibody which can be eluted by development of the inspection target solution in parts of the development layer. The biosensor measures a bonding amount of the marker reagent bonded to the reagent immobilization part, thereby qualitatively or quantitatively measuring components to be measured in the inspection target solution, and is further provided with a space forming material that forms a cavity part, which is a space into which the inspection target solution flows, between the development layer for developing the inspection target solution and the space forming material.

A substantial amount of a marker reagent associated with a measurement is measured in a marker reagent measurement area, and the substantial amount of the marker reagent is reflected by a result obtained in a reaction result measurement area where a reaction with a measurement target in an inspection target solution is measured. Thereby, an influence of external environmental factors, factors in a property of the inspection target solution, an erroneous operation in a measurement operation or the like is eliminated, whereby a chromatography measuring method employing a biosensor with higher accuracy and higher reliability can be provided.

In a chromatographic quantitative assay device and a manufacturing method thereof according to the present invention, as shown in FIG. there are provided a non-moistenable reaction layer carrier support a sample addition portion for adding a liquid sample, a marker reagent holding portion for holding a marker reagent, a antibody fixing portion where specific protein is fixed on the region of a reaction layer and a absorption portion for absorbing the liquid sample. These portions are formed above the carrier support and the reaction layer carrier support is covered by close adhesion with the liquid-impermeable sheet member except the portion for adding a liquid sample.
