Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support enhanced scheduling request configurations. A user equipment (UE) may obtain, at a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer of the UE, information associated with a data packet for transmission by the UE. The UE may transmit a scheduling request that indicates information regarding an elapsed time period since the information associated with the data packet was obtained at the PDCP layer of the UE, or whether the data packet is a final packet of a set of data packets, or both. A network entity may receive the scheduling request and determine scheduling information for uplink communications by the UE based on the information regarding the elapsed time period, or whether the data packet is the final data packet, or both. The network entity may transmit the scheduling information to the UE.

Enhanced scheduling request configurations for wireless communications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a target network node may receive, from a source network node, delay status information associated with a user equipment (UE) served by the source network node, wherein the delay status information is associated with one or more logical channels (LCHs). The target network node may receive, from the UE during a random access channel (RACH) procedure, one or more messages that include one or more delay status reports associated with the one or more LCHs. The target network node may transmit, to the UE during a handover of the UE from the source network node, one or more messages indicating one or more uplink scheduling parameters for the one or more LCHs based on the delay status information and the one or more delay status reports associated with the one or more LCHs.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a grant for a physical uplink channel. The UE may select skipped resources that include one or more of frequency resources or time resources in the grant to skip for a communication on the physical uplink channel. The UE may transmit uplink control information (UCI) that indicates the skipped resources or non-skipped resources of the grant. The UE may transmit the communication using the non-skipped resources and not the skipped resources. Numerous other aspects are described.

Method and apparatus for delay states having variable configurations. The apparatus transmits, to a network entity, a delay status report indicating an uplink delay detected by the UE, wherein the uplink delay is greater than a first threshold. The apparatus switches, subsequent to transmitting the delay status report, from a first state configuration to a second state configuration that is different than the first state configuration for transmission of uplink data before a delay budget is exceeded. The second state configuration is a delay critical state and comprises a set of configurations for the transmission of the uplink data. The apparatus communicates, with the network entity, based on the second state configuration.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may select first resources to skip in each grant occasion of multiple grant occasions for communications on a physical uplink channel. The UE may transmit uplink control information (UCI) that indicates the first resources or second resources that are not to be skipped in each grant occasion of the multiple grant occasions. The UE may transmit the communications in the multiple grant occasions using the second resources and not the first resources. Numerous other aspects are described.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, a flow control layer of a UE may provide a capability message to an application layer including an indication that the UE supports a service for providing flow control information for support of extended reality traffic and may receive a message from an application of the application layer registering a flow associated with the application with the service. The flow control layer may provide, to the application via the service, an indication that a quantity of packets or bytes in a buffer of the flow control layer fails to satisfy a threshold. The UE may obtain, from the application, a packet associated with the flow based on providing the indication that the quantity of packets or bytes in the buffer fails to satisfy the threshold and may transmit, to a network entity, a message including the obtained packet.

In some aspects, an application server may receive an indication that a handover is likely for a user equipment (UE), wherein the UE is in communication with the application server to receive a data stream. The method may include a user equipment (UE) generating a set of multimedia packets including a first multimedia packet and a second multimedia packet that is generated after the first multimedia packet. The UE may add the set of multimedia packets to a queue and apply an uplink packet handling protocol. Using the uplink packet handling protocol, the UE may discard the first multimedia packet and transmit, to a base station, the second multimedia packet. Using the second multimedia packet, a server in communication with the base station may generate a video frame and transmit the video frame to the UE via the base station.

A user equipment (UE) may receive multiple transport blocks (TBs) representing an application data unit (ADU) from a base station. The base station may transmit an indication that the UE is to provide ADU level feedback. A network node may determine a first time location associated with a peak in data traffic for multiple devices in communication with a communications network including the network node. The network node may determine a second time location for the peak in the data traffic for a subset of the devices based on a threshold for an overall peak in data traffic for the multiple devices. The network node may transmit a signal that indicates the second time location for the peak in the data traffic for the subset of devices. The network node may communicate the data with the subset of devices based on the signal indicating the second time location.

A user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink control information scheduling transmission of periodic multimedia traffic bursts to the UE with a first periodic cadence. The UE may receive control signaling from the UE indicating that the UE is to periodically transmit sounding reference signals to the base station according to a second cadence, which may be a multiple of the first periodic cadence. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may receive control signaling indicating that the UE is to transmit a sounding reference signal at a time associated with a beginning of at least one of the periodic multimedia traffic bursts. The UE may transmit one or more sounding reference signals to the base station in accordance with the control signaling.
