A method and device for decoding a plurality of packets of same data. Each packet is encoded using a product code. An encoded packet comprises data blocks is organized into rows and columns. Each of the rows and columns has a respective error detecting code. For a data packet, Erroneous row and column data are detected by their associated error detecting code. In the data packet, a potentially erroneous data block belonging to a row and a column of data blocks both having been detected as erroneous is detected. In another data packet of the same data, a non-erroneous data block corresponding to the identified potentially erroneous data block is determined. The data block is determined as non-erroneous if it belongs to at least one row or column of data having been detected as non-erroneous. The identified potentially erroneous block is replaced with the determined non-erroneous block.

Method and device for processing received data

The invention relates to a method of reconstructing pixel values of a video frame for concealing corrupted pixel values. The method comprising receiving, by a receiving unit, of a signal from a communication channel and delivering by the receiving unit of video packets comprising pixel values possibly corrupted with errors; associating confidence levels with pixel values comprised in the video packets as delivered by the receiving unit; and reconstructing pixel values usable for display from the received pixel values, wherein a reconstructed value for a given pixel is obtained from the received values of a set of pixels, including the given pixel, weighted by their associated confidence levels. The invention allows for better reconstruction of corrupted pixel values and reduces the perceived distortion when displaying the video frame.

Error concealment method for wireless communications

A method for assigning audio channels of audio data content to speakers, each of which is associated with a different one of N speaker nodes of a wireless network. The method is performed by a manager node of the wireless network. The method includes, for each of the N speaker nodes, obtaining a piece of orientation information for each of N&#x2212;1 other speaker nodes different from the given speaker node, regarding an orientation of a reception antenna of the given speaker node when receiving data sent by each of the N&#x2212;1 other speaker nodes through the wireless network. The method also includes assigning a different one of the audio channels to a different one of the speaker nodes, as a function of N&#x2212;1 pieces of orientation information obtained for each of the N speaker nodes.

In a mesh network using a TDMA protocol: determination is made of a first set of antenna angles to be used by a receiving antenna of a recipient node to capture data respectively sent by a plurality of sending nodes; reception is made of data sent by the sending nodes using the respective antenna angle of the first set; at least one correlation operation is made between the various redundant copies of the same item of data, received by the recipient node; at least one copy not necessary for the decoding of the received data is deduced determination is made of at least one time slot during which the copy not necessary for the decoding is received; and during that time slot, the antenna angle used by the receiving antenna to receive data sent by the sending node allocated to that time slot is updated.

Antenna beam angles of one or more directional antennas of a wireless device are updated to communicate with a plurality of other wireless devices. Each one of the antenna beam angles is associated with one of the plurality of other wireless devices. At least one angle correction is determined to update the antenna beam angle associated with at least one first wireless device among the plurality of other wireless devices. The antenna beam angle associated with at least one second wireless device is first updated using the determined at least one angle correction of the antenna beam angle associated with the first wireless device.

In predicting a quantity of a printing product necessary for printing a document, the document is stored in its entirety as digital data. Each page of the document is divided into bands of the digital data. From the digital data, a table of limited capacity is created, which describes at least part of a monochromatic component of one of the bands, with the monochromatic component corresponding to the printing product and each cell of the table representing at least a pixel. A number of switched-on pixels in the table is counted, with a switched-on pixel corresponding to a pixel for which a portion of the printing product must be ejected. Before enabling or demanding printing, a necessary quantity of the printing product is derived from a number of switched-on pixels corresponding to each band.

In order to monitor the consumption of a normally electrically conductive product contained in a storage chamber of a reservoir made of electrically non-conductive material, the storage chamber is disposed in a capacitive arrangement and a measurement procedure is defined, according to which, in response to an excitation signal applied to the capacitive arrangement, a measurement signal is obtained (at,), one characteristic of which has an amplitude which varies substantially with the quantity of product contained in the storage chamber. Before deducing the value of information representing the quantity of product available in the reservoir from this amplitude, the measurement signal has filtering applied to it, according to which it is multiplied by a reference signal of frequency at least approximately equal to that of the excitation signal (at,) and the multiplied signal is applied to a low-pass filter.

Method and device for monitoring the consumption of a product, for example a printing ink, using a low-pass filter

In order to monitor the state of a reservoir made of electrically insulating material containing a normally electrically conductive product, ink for example, the free end of the outlet channel of the reservoir is connected to a predetermined potential and two measurement procedures are defined, the first of which results in a first measurement signal, a characteristic of which varies mainly with the quantity of product contained in the storage cavity of the reservoir, and the second of which results in a second measurement signal, a characteristic of which varies mainly with the electrical conductivity of the channel between its ends. During the measurements, an abnormality correction procedure (or a simple alarm procedure) is triggered when the characteristic of the second measurement signal indicates a low electrical conductivity of the channel (absence of product) whilst the characteristic of the first signal indicates that there is still product in the storage cavity.
