An image file is managed by a database of a system of a service provider (center server) on a network. The center server obtains various kinds of information (such as an image ID to specify the image to be transmitted and a destination address) input to the system by a service user who has viewed the disclosed image. Based on this information, the center server reads the specified image file from the database, converts the image file into an attachment document format, generates an image-attached electronic mail message, and transmits the electronic mail message to the specified address.

Network photograph service system

In a network photograph service which provides a digital photograph service on a network, a workload on a user to input a registration ID needed upon viewing an image is reduced. In a registration ID input screen , the registration ID and a registration password input to boxes and are stored by relating the two to the user ID of the user who has carried out the input. When the same user recalls the registration ID input screen , registration IDs having been stored are displayed as a list. By selecting one of the registration IDs by clicking a display button , display of images managed under the registration ID can be requested.

In a network photograph service which provides digital photographic services on a network, only selected images are shown only to people that a user wishes to show the images, without cost and time upon or after photographing the images. Images registered with a database and the names of albums having been registered (album , album , and album ) are shown on a screen of the user's personal computer. The user relates the names of the albums with the images and the correspondence set by the user is stored in the system. When the album name is specified by a user, only the images belonging to the album can be browsed in a unit of an album according to the stored correspondence.
