The machine tool is equipped with: a bed furnished with a rectangular base, right and left sidewalls provided standing either side of the base, and a rear sidewall provided standing along the back of the base; a table disposed in the space surrounded by the three sidewalls; a first saddle shaped in the form of a rectangular frame shape, provided free to shift back and forth supported on the tops of the left and right sidewalls; a second saddle penetrated by a perpendicular through-hole and arranged free to shift sideways inside the first saddle frame; and a spindle head arranged free to shift perpendicularly inside the through-hole in the second saddle; and a main spindle arranged over the table and supported by the spindle head free to rotate centered on its axis.

A machine tool rotational indexing device is provided that is capable of avoiding or restraining the reduction in the preload force of any of rolling element rows or restraining the reduction in the support rigidity of the rotary-side coupling even if the preload is decreased. Rolling elements are arranged in a plurality of rolling element rows between a rotary-side coupling and a stationary-side coupling and a prescribed preload force acts when a joint coupling is located in an unclamped position. The rolling element rows are constructed of a first rolling element row arranged in a direction in which the preload force increases as the joint coupling moves to a clamped position and a second rolling element row arranged in a direction in which the preload force decreases. The first rolling element row is positioned farther apart from the meshing engagement portion of the couplings than the second rolling element row.

Rotational indexing device for a machine tool

A workpiece transfer device for machine tools that easily achieves positional adjustment of the rack while suppressing increases in cost and therefore preventing occurrences of vibrations and noise is disclosed. The workpiece transfer device includes a frame member having a rectangular cross-section. The device extends from a workpiece machining position to a workpiece loading/unloading position. A support member is hung on the frame member so as to be movable via a linear guide and which has a workpiece holding mechanism mounted thereon. A drive mechanism for rotationally driving a pinion gear engaged with a rack is provided on the frame member so as to be parallel to the linear guide so that the support member is moved between the two positions. The linear guide is disposed on one wall of the frame member and the rack is disposed on another wall surface so as to have its position adjustable.

Driver and automatic pallet changer having the same

A machine tool is provided which is constructed so that a table pivot mechanism and cables such as a power supply line connected to the pivot mechanism are protected from chips and a coolant. The machine tool comprises: a column movable along the X-axis on a bed ( ); a main spindle ( ) supported by the column via a spindle head and vertically movable along the Y-axis; and a rotatable table ( ) which is movable back and forth with respect to the main spindle ( ) along the Z-axis on the bed ( ). A tool transfer device for machine tools that can reduce the tool transfer time and also reduce the cost of the device by eliminating the need for a driving source. The tool transfer device for machine tools has a tool magazine set beside a spindle on which a tool is mounted. The tool magazine serves for accommodating and holding therein a multiplicity of tools so that the tools are directed perpendicular to an axis of the spindle. A transfer pot is set on a spindle side of the tool magazine and is driven and moved by a horizontal moving unit and a vertical moving unit. This allows a next-process tool accommodated in the tool magazine to be taken out and transferred horizontally to a stroke end position by the transfer pot, and the next-process tool is then tilted at the stroke end position to a tool changing position in which the next-process tool is parallel to the axis of the spindle. The tool transfer device comprises a tool tilting mechanism including a tilted cam member and a tilting cam member for tilting the next-process tool to the tool changing position by horizontal movement of the horizontal moving unit to the stroke end position. The method of operating the tool transfer device is also presented.
