There is provided a heat exchanger realizing downsizing, weight saving, and cost reduction in comparison with a conventional heat exchange element or heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is provided with a first fluid flow portion formed of a honeycomb structure having a plurality of cells partitioned by ceramic partition walls and extending from one end face to another end face in an axial direction to allow a heating medium as a first fluid to flow therein, and a second fluid flow portion formed of a casing containing the honeycomb structure therein, the casing having an inlet and an outlet for a second fluid, and the second fluid flowing on an outer peripheral face of the honeycomb structure to receive heat from the first fluid.

The ceramic plasma reactor includes: a plurality of unit electrodes each of which comprises a plate-shaped ceramic dielectric bodyand a conductive filmembedded in the ceramic dielectric body superimposing them each other with a gap which works as a discharge portion, and preferably being formed by sandwiching one unit electrodehaving no through holesby two unit electrodes having plural through holesthere between. A positive electrode for a non-aqueous electrolytic secondary cell and a non-aqueous electrolytic secondary cell are provided, which exhibit a high potential in a 4 V region, and have a high capacity, safety, excellent cycle characteristics, and satisfactory high-temperature characteristics. The positive electrode active material is a mixture of an olivine type lithium manganese phosphate and a spinel type lithium manganate.

Positive electrode for non-aqueous electrolytic secondary cell and non-aqueous electrolytic secondary cell

A plasma reactor includes a honeycomb electrode in which a plurality of cells that function as gas passages are partitioned by a partition wall, and a discharge electrode. The honeycomb electrode includes a first gas circulation section that allows a first gas to pass through, and a second gas circulation section that allows a second gas to pass through. The plasma reactor causes the first gas introduced into the first gas circulation section of the honeycomb electrode through the space between the electrodes to undergo a reaction while causing a plasma discharge between the honeycomb electrode and the discharge electrode, and allows the second gas to be introduced into the second gas circulation section of the honeycomb electrode to transfer heat of the second gas to the first gas circulation section to promote the reaction of the first gas.

Plasma reactor and plasma reaction apparatus

The present invention provides a plasma reactor which can suppress deactivation of components (active components) activated by plasma when causing exhaust gas to flow through a plasma generating space to ensure efficient reaction between the active components and particulate matter, whereby the particulate matter can be efficiently purified via reaction. The plasma reactor includes a plasma reactor main body, a positive electrodedisposed on an inlet sideof the plasma reactor main body, a conductive honeycomb filterdisposed so that a filter inlet sidefaces an outlet sideof the plasma reactor main body, and a pulse power supplywhich is connected with the positive electrodeand the honeycomb filterand is capable of applying a pulse voltage between the positive electrodeand the honeycomb filteras plasma generating electrodes to generate plasma.

Plasma reactor

A lithium secondary battery using lithium manganese oxide as a positive active material and having excellent charge and discharge cycle properties. As a positive active material of a lithium secondary battery, lithium manganese oxide having a cubic spinel structure, in which the strength ratio (P/Pstrength ratio) of the primary endothermal peak (P) appearing around 950&#xb0; C. and the secondary endothermal peak (P) appearing around 1100&#xb0;0 C. in differential thermal analysis is under 1, is used.

Lithium secondary battery

A lithium secondary battery using a lithium manganese oxide for a positive active material having a cubic spinel structure which has a crystallite size of 58 nm or greater and/or a lattice distortion of 0.09% or less. The ratio of Li/Mn in the lithium manganese oxide is preferably greater than 0.5. In synthesizing the lithium manganese oxide, a mixed compound including salts and/or oxides of each of the elements is fired in an oxidizing atmosphere in a range of 650&deg; C. to 1000&deg; C. for 5 to 50 hours, with the properties of the crystal being improved by firing two or more times, preferably with an increase in firing temperature over the temperature of the previous firing.

A lithium secondary battery has small internal resistance and has good charge-discharge cycle characteristics, with a lithium transition metal compound being used as a positive active material. A portion of transition element Me in a lithium transition metal compound LiMe O to be used as a positive active material is substituted by not less than two substitution elements M selected from the group consisting of Li, Fe, Mn, Ni, Mg, Zn, B, Al, Co, Cr, Si, Ti, Sn, P, V, Sb, Nb, Ta, Mo, and W. To provide LiM Me O wherein M&ne;Me .

In AlN crystal grains constituting a sintered body, is contained: 150 ppm-0.5 wt. %, preferably at most 0.1 wt.%, of at least one rare earth element (as oxide thereof); at most 900 ppm, preferably at most 500 ppm of at least one metal impurity except rare earth elements; and preferably at least 0.5 wt. % of oxygen measured by an electron probe X-ray microanalyzer. The grains have an average grain diameter of preferably at least 3.0 .mu.m and show a main peak in the wavelength range of 350-370 nm of spectrum obtained by a cathode luminescence method. The sintered body composed of AlN crystal grains has a volume resistivity at room temperature of at most 1.0.times.10.sup.12 .OMEGA..multidot.cm.
